Thank you, good people of Conceptart that like my stuff!
I'm really grateful for the support!

Shadow Stalker: You have a point there. Shame I didn't notice it while painting them. Ah well... next time!

wreck: Thanks! I seem to be getting back to posting a bit more frequently, sooo... keeping fingers crossed! Glad you like what you see here!

pgf95: Thank you! I'm really happy you like my works!

So... here's a crocodile-librarian-wizard... thing. It's for a challenge me and some friends came up with. A character a week sorta thing. It's a tad rushed though. But I like it anyway. Shame I still have no idea wether my designs are good or terribly generic. I need to do tons more studies to expand my visual library...

Anyway- thanks for looking, everyone! And have a nice day

Love this guy! I actually really like how the hood and tail-guard are strapped in place. Very clever idea. It is rendered beautifully as always. I wish I was "looser" with my art. I need to work on that.

Shadow Stalker: Thanks, yet again! Looseness comes with practice, so you know what to do!

Here's a turbo-mega-WIP update. Still an update though! I went back to the town environments from the previous page. Still a ton of things to fix there, but I hope to finish them during the weekend. And I started work on the townspeople that are supposed to live in the town.

    Thanks for looking!

Also- sorry for not writing in other people's threads. I'm trying to get back to that habit as well (just like regular posting). Sooo... I hope I'll manage

    Have a nice day, everyone!

    Parhelion: Thanks!

Here are the finished concepts for the townsfolk. The town itself is still not finished...

Awesome sketchbook Man, I always feel Kind of bad when I come to a sketchbook and can't seem to find anything to say that is helpful for improving even though I'm in my early learning stages and your on a whole other level haha.

I gotta say though, your info image/collages are very very helpful and interesting, I saved a bunch to look at and read for later. One thing I really want to get into eventually is fantasy/armored characters and you have some really cool stuff on poses and various things. So thanks a ton for taking the time to make those for viewers of your sketchbook!

    Hey, everybody

Chips: Damn! This is so inspirational! Knowing that I can in some way return the favour to this community is a great motivation!
    Also, you flatter me

Jonesoda: Thank you! I'm really glad you find the things here helpful! If you have any, more specific questions, feel free to ask.

Here's a tiny update. Two badguy mercenaries that the player is supposed to fight against. Still quite unfinished though.
And a forest. Even more unfinished.

Thanks for looking! And have a nice day

Fetsch: Thank you! I hope to be able to concentrate on environments a lot more in the coming weeks

Hey, everybody. Here's those two badguy mercenaries from the last post. Finished. I still have sooo much to learn about lighting! It's depressing... But it'll be awesome when I finally get the hang of it!

Anyway, thanks for looking! And have a nice day!

Great designs! Thanks a lot for posting the progress shots, as well. They are greatly appreciated. I can't start characters like that for some reason. I have to draw the linework first! I'm going to try this method on my next character.

great sketchbook dude ! i really dig your environments, and some of your characters ! maybe try to spend more time of the faces, they should be the most rendered/worked area, because they'll show most of character's personnality/story, etc, ! keep it up !

I love your environments and characters. The environments definitely remind me the game Vandal Hearts, or maybe Tactics Ogre.

Shadow Stalker Thanks! Also, you are very welcome You don't really need to start characters like that. What I'm just now discovering is that it is incredibly liberating to work the way you're most comfortable with. Still, it's good to try new things. Just don't get caught up in mastering a process you're not comfortable with.

kingkostas Thanks, Kosta! This means a lot, coming from you! As for the lighting- I'm mostly struggling with making a clearly defined lightsource with clearly defined shadowed and lit areas... As far as I can see it, a lot of my paintings look flat. Either that, or I'm too critical of my own work...

kikindaface Thank you! You have a point about the faces. I try not to overwork them so that it doesn't feel like a painting of a face with a body attached to it. Instead I want the focus to be on the design (of which the face is part as well, of course). I'll try to keep this in mind for the next character!

The Enlightened One Thanks! I'm happy you like my work! As for the environments, I'll take that as a sort of compliment, because the games you mentioned are nice

So... here's a concept for an enemy creature for my imaginary-probably-never-to-be-made-game project. Also, an update on that forest environment. I still can't decide wether it's any good or just generic and uninteresting...

    Comments and critiques are welcome!

    And thanks for looking!

Alsoooooo... Will any of you, good people that happen upon my sketchbook be visiting the Behind the Iron Curtain workshop in September? If you are, we could meet up and chat, and whatnot...

Lovely creatures mate, great design!!! Well you just need to add cast shadows and push up the value in the light parts [of course making the light areas brighter will need an analogous darkening of the shadow areas]
Keep up the great work !!!

very nice work love the medieval town scenes, only thing I would pick up on are your colours are getting a little muddy in places but that might be just my personal taste for bright garish colour
    keep up the good work!

    Something something waffles.

Hello, good people of Conceptart! It is me- the guy who sucks at updating!
I wish I could say I have a really good reason for not updating, but... it's more like I have a lot of really lame reasons. Instead of one good one. But still... it's reasons. So anyway- I won't bother you with details. But here is a humble update!
A few digital sketchbook pages. And a couple of knights I painted for Paul Richards' "Substrata". They didn't get selected though. But a whole lot more awesome work did! It's going to be a great book!

I'm going to try and focus more on studies now. We'll see how it goes.

As usual- if you happen to have any questions- feel free to ask! And thanks for looking!

    Your costume designs are amazing!
I was wondering if you had any tips/things to study to improve designs?
