gesture drawing. Half an hours worth.
Nice gestures, the contours look very accurate! Have you thought about trying some really flowy / draw-through gestures a la Vilppu or this dude:
Sketchbook - freakmod wants to learn how to draw really well
I've thought about using more traditional media at least. I must admit to being terrible at crosshatch, and I try to avoid it as much as I can. Vilppu has great lines though so I might give that a shot
hey obstfelder! what a wonderful sb you have here! also, thanks for the suggestion on spartan. im gonna try that soon.
really like the gestures. and the bubblegum girl!
if you forgive me, I used your painting of the setting sun to test a theory I've been hearing a lot lately: if the colors aren't popping like they are supposed to, you probably 'popped the rest to hard.
well, now I mighta taken it too far. not sure. oh, it was worth a try!
oh, ill be back to bother you again probably. just a friendly warning :p

oh my; was that how it was supposed to be done? I guess I just didnt get that. looks great!
Thanks, Ashess! I think you are getting the idea. Keep at it!
Tried another values study. very soft variations on this one, drove me crazy trying to match the reference
I like your animation and your color of painting, it's very cool man, keep going (:
cwc0436: thank you!
I'm teaching a zbrush class, and made this turnaround for a character project for my students. Its based on one of the warhammer trolls.
Teslagrad is finally finished. I am very pleased with how the game turned out. I've done animations for the boss fights and monsters in the game, and some level art and design too.
hey Obst ¦D
Your are working on different things, like color theory, anatomy etc.. thats good but dont forget to set clear goals. maybe getting better at anatomy, then study it intensive for a month or so, doesnt mean you should leave everything else but i think you know what i mean ¦D if not, feel free to ask ^^ the which (or crow queen) xD - is nice, some hard edges would be nice. hm and you could try to render the background and the charactere the same..i think that some details in the background are good for the character too, not that it steals the show but yeah ^_^' have fun and keep going!
