I would like to see you draw some things you see every day, because now that you started your sketchbook I can see some thing are out of shape a little. Not something to worry about, but something to work on, and man made things are easier for a good start, and what you know best you should be able to draw better. Let me know when you have something so I can take a look. No hurry, it is best if you take your time.

fast sketches .. just to warm-up ..

Hey thanks for the encouragement in my sketchbook!
That first drawing of the chest looks pretty good but I think you would really benefit by drawing the whole figure. It look like you tend to shy away from the feet, and practicing drawing the whole body will help you figure out proportions and how each part of the body relates to itself. Keep posting!

hello fellow sixteen year old! a nice start to your sketchbook so far.
are you using refs for most of your drawings? if so, try to pay attention to where each feature is located relative to another so you can learn where to correctly place them. also do some anatomy studies like others have said (take a look at bridgman and loomis books for some guidance)
September 6th, 2010 #28
@ tourtu: thank your for viisiting my SB ..
well, I use references for most of my sketches .. and I'm aware of every thing you said ..
I'll take a look at Loomis's books ..
thank you for the tips ..
and please check my sketchbook time to time ..

Nice start here! I can see that you are struggling to get your portraits right. I'd suggest you do some more basic studies on how to draw the head. Grabbing some books like Loomis' "Drawing the Head and Hands" is certainly a good idea - it helped me so much you have no idea!

Uhm, good start ! Keep drawing every day
... start to learn ...
