Hello I've been quite busy and sadly didn't take the time to put my images online here. There's still a lot that I didn't photograph, I might do that next monday.
@ surus; thanks for the link! And yeah well I'm pretty much forced to use different mediums through school anyway hihi.
@ Mush Pon; I think I replied in your sketchbook, I feel flattered that you ask me such a question but I'm not sure if I know enough of it to answer well.
I would like some input on these next images. They are supposed to be promotional items for the city of Utrecht. The Illustration teacher failed me on the class so I'm going to have to do these better. The only one that was good enough was the T-shirt he said, the other items (plastic ball, beer coaster, sugar stick and bag) I have to redesign. Any advice is appreciated.
I picked lines from poetry about Utrecht to accompany the slogan, which is "Utrecht, is it true that .... ?"
I'll translate the text in the images below.
(this one is quite boring, just a ball with some bridges and water, so I guess I'll need to liven it up)
poetry: "Monsters live in the canal, and they are us"
slogan: "Utrecht, is it true that ink flows through the canals?"
poetry: "Miffy had a strange dream..."
slogan: "Utrecht, is it true that you inspire?"
poetry: "Today this street will shine itself"
slogan: "Utrecht, is it true that you beam?"
(I really dislike this one already, it was made in a hurry and I think it's crappy)
poetry: "In this park I saw my little ponies galloping"
slogan: "Utrecht, is it true that you live?"
YAY! Marleen's back! Always loved your style m'dear, and what a great mix of stuff you've already got here!

@ Jelle; hee, dankje! Ik zet je op mijn to do lijst om te mailen hihi
@ Matt; Hiya and thanks really motivational
--- Sketchy update, there's still lots to photograph and scan but it's not really a priority now.
Ah new stuff! I always love the weirdness in your work
You can see you're searching in your drawings and doodles, it reminds me of my time at the Academy (haha, sounds like it's been ages ago ) when the teachers gave us the most impossible assignments to work out...
I'm looking forward to drawing with you tomorrow! Haven't seen you in a while
Edit: Also, if you find the time for it when you are less busy than you are now ; I would LOVE to see something conceptual from your mind, like an oil painting or something. Something that has nothing to do with schoolassignments at all.
You are so good at the weird slightly creepy concepts!
These are two things from illustration, that I'm happy about. They're pretty much final illustrations. They're a portrait for a magazine, of a person we had to make up, this is the first, a prima ballerina.
Nice style. I especially like the simplicity of that living room sketch in your most recent post. It reminds me of an artist I recall reading about and who...um...whose name I cannot remember for the life of me. Hmm...
