Jayoh doesn't know what she likes to draw anymore

Consider this my introduction to conceptart.org. I have been kind of a lurker off and on over the years, but have never been an active contributor up to this point.

I am posting this sketch book thread mostly because i scrapped a rather large personal project of mine, which i think was kinda holding back my growth as an artist. I want to focus on odds and ends for a while, nothing too ambitious. Due to my recent decision i am kinda floundering on where i want to to focus in my creative career. I am a working professional artist, so hopefully i have the skills to support that.

Also the forum bugged out when i tried to post this a moment ago, so here's hoping for not a repeat!

I make no promises in how frequently i will post, or what type of content. I usually do comics on the side, but i don't have any recent enough work i can post here. The color stuff is kinda new to me.

Here are some of my recent personal works:

Hope it was good for you!

    Hey there,

Really colourful stuff, nice to see. Would be good if you worked on anatomy a bit more and developed your shading techniques - some of it is too light/shadow with nothing in between or on the edge - doesn't look bad, but sometimes just looks unfinished or too harsh. Keep up the practice!

    Best wishes,

    Ana

Some of these i am simply going for flat and graphic, with a distressed brush to get it a roughness that i like, i guess i haven't quite been doing enough backgrounds to make it work. It is also true i fudge anatomy a lot, was there something specific?

Also, this chick takes what i have been fiddling around with, and takes it to the umpteenth degree, i am simply obsessed with her work:

    Thanks!
