vvvv below, stuff I wrote back when I started this thread D:
I really have nothing interesting about me to say, only that I'm a Game design student and well I'll just be posting stuff here. Feel free to critique as much as you'd like.

Welcome Voodoo Mama! Lovely painting, I like the skintones and textures.
I'm looking forward to your future posts in here!
Well, that looks lovely, post more!
Thank you! Lady and Myio
here are some sketches
These are from observation I suppose, they're ancient greek statues pictures I found online and decided to draw them
This girl is supposed to be from hercules the movie (by Disney) I tried drawing one of the muses realistically, and I came up with this. Her dress is probably wring since I didnt use reference :/
This is supposed to be the Archangel St Michael, I always wanted to model him in Maya but never had time, oh well
I want to be a 3d Environment Artist, maybe I should start drawing more environments? I seem to like to draw characters only lol.
well, here are some of my life drawings, because I'm poor I couldn't afford charcoal nor big newsprint paper, therefore I had to use the cheapest thing possible: photocopy paper (which I stole from school hohoho! ) and sharpies.
Thank you, Sady.
Some old drawings I did.
Beautiful drawings. I love that unusual wyvern dragony thing. He looks friendly, but not creepy-friendly like falcor... Keep it up.
True progress means matching the world to the vision in our heads.
But we always change the vision instead.
Hajime, Thank you C: !
Kalin, lol thanks, I love drawing characters, drawing people is one of my favorite things. But when it comes to 3d, it's too complicated. Getting the loops of the body in the right place is something I've never been able to do :/
Drawings from monsters I saw in Illuminated texts, and decided to render my own realistic version of them
Guybrush Threepwood from Monkey Island
Ezio Auditore from Assassin's Creed II
One of the first drawings I made in ballpoint pen, so it's really messy
Some cartoon practice (I've always wanted to learn how to draw cartoons, I guess I'm not quite there yet)
This is supposed to be Kaka, a brazilian footbal player (or soccer player if you're American or Canadian)
I made this for my brother, since he hates it whenever I take something cool and make it into something silly or cute
my eye really stopped on these, top work!

Great drawings Voodoo, any tips for painting digitally?
Velocity Kendall, Thanks!
Jauny, aw thanks! you're very kind C: I will post more
Samurai Nik, Thanks! I'm actually learning digital painting too. I'm still not very good, but I do find it easier to start a painting if there's color and texture in the background.
Some people start from grayscale and then apply color using another layer, this method is actually recomended if you're a beginner, and there are even professional artists that work in this way (it's easier to get the lightning and composition properly). Perhaps you could try that method and see how it works out for you!
here's some practice with photoshop
They're ancient greek sculptures
some stuff drawn with ballpoint pen
more stuff drawn with ballpoint pen
Loved your sketches!
The ballpoint sketches are great! A appreciate the Medusa.
Keep the excellent artwork! =)
I see offline people...
MrHuffer, Thank you! them environments.... D: I'll post them when I have something...umm..decent xD
Dourado, Thanks C:
some photoshop/sketch stuff
not happy with this one, I think the dragon looks quite flat.
not a big deal, but I'm quite happy with this
good stuff so far. But your anatomy is lacking in places. Try studying some serious Loomis, and do more work from life !
Pretzel and Lakeland, thanks for the critiques! I really appreaciate it.
And for the welcome, 7 months later and all lol jk it's cool
I'll work more on the anatomy!
Meanwhile some quick stuff I had done in photoshop
D: them environments! I will post them monsieur! but so far I've nothing worthy of showing
yes, I do like to use Mudbox to model, and it's easier and more fun than getting the topology done in 3ds max. But I still should know the topology, since I'm going into Game Design after all!
now some stuff, before I start seriously drawing environments lol
courtesan from Assassin's Creed
some 3d stuff
Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment in my sketchbook, it's been a while.
You seem a little inconsistent, with pieces like faviola and dragonbird working better than 21sb.jpg or 14.jpg.
I'm not sure how to go about making things consistent, other than practice, but I know that's something an art director would look for, although that may not apply in an environment artist's portfolio.
I suspect you use black to paint in shadows. You should look deeper into how light works to figure out what colors to use. Warm lights will cast cool shadows, ambient light will brighten shadows, etc.
thought Id have a look at your sketchbook, I like the ballpoint drawings and the skull rendering especially. Thx for sharing. I like ballpoint, very convinient and cheap tool.
Have a look at my SketchbookThanks!
'Expect the Unexpect' - Tomy Ungerer.
Hamsta, hey nice to see you dropping by!
Yes I see what you're saying about inconscistency. I guess I should start having higher standards and paying more attention to what I'm doing.
eh I try not to use black, the whole shadow being the color of the ambient light is something I'm beginning to understand and practice, it's kind of hard since I've been used to thinking of shadows as black almost my entire life.
Thanks for pointing these problems out. I'll definetly work to improve on these.
jamtob2, Hey! Thanks! Yes that's why started using them haha, nothing beats pencil though C: in my humble opinion.
Now more stuff.
eh I wasn't gonna post this cause it's anime-ish, but I kind of like how the skintones turned out.
A study with pastels of a painting in oils by David Leffel. I should say a failed study.
I was trying to learn this whole painting with pastels business, studying skintones, and how to paint by massing the form instead of outline.
an apple and plantain
I find my stuff looks very kiddish, so I'm trying to do more life paintings and stuff :/
raminafshari, Thank you!
More stuff I've been doing.
Nice work! You really should try and draw more environments, I see you certainly has talent for that. Your anatomy and characters are also really good, you should sculpt in 3D as much as possible if you have the time.
