    Toshley's Sketching Book

Be warned, I am extremely new to drawing. Please be kind. Be sure to check back in if you like what you see, I will be updating this often.

I am trying to learn how to draw the female body but it's not going well. I don't know why but my mind just can't transfer what I see on screen onto paper. It's a real self-esteem killer.

I will be editing this post to upload new sketches.

I'm still working on trying to do the human body right, doing all my exercises, will be uploading more soon.

Anyone willing to critique what I have up thus far?

It's good that you want to improve, but I'd suggest not drawing the body with just outlines. Getting to know anatomy and proportions is easier when you break the body down into basic shapes.
Use circles and tubes for the body, it'll be easier to get your ideas on paper and notice any mistakes

I'd advise you not to leave out the feet, or anything else you find hard to draw. Every time you draw something you struggle with you'll get a little bit better and eventually it won't be much of a problem at all

Thank you all so much for your comments!

I am going to start working on just hands and feet, after that I am going to try and get the proportions right (using the bubble method). The above drawings were just me looking at reference pictures and seeing if I could get close to their proportions without using measurements or bubbles, just free-handing it, I still need a lot of work.

I do my exercises each day, although I don't really see improvement, I still keep on trying. I will upload more stuff soon. I have a terrible scanner.
