The question is where is the artists that their art works make you feel love and you want to look their works several times a day!

    Schmid.

Also, are you talking about entertainment art, or painting in general?

The nude body's a beautiful thing, it's been in art since we've been making it. Why not celebrate it?

As for sexy art... well, it's sexy, why not paint it ? Yeah, it's easy to make it tasteless, but that's what separates the good from the bad. If it's not your thing, there's TONS of non-nude art out there as well, although I'd wonder what your beef with the nude figure is.

I'm guessing probably 80-90% minimum of all the art in the world created every day has no sexual content or meaning (hell, most of it probably has no meaning at all, from what I read in a lot of the threads here...). I can back these figures up, or at least come close, with a minimal amount of research. This research could be as simple as going to a local library and simply marking one of two columns for every pic in the book. I'm willing to retract MY statement/estimate if YOU can prove to me that the "70%" figure you so flippantly threw out has even an ounce of truth to it.

You don't like sex, don't look at it or participate in it. You don't like nudity (WHICH IS NOT FUCKIN' SEX!), don't look at it, and IF you don't like "woman" (as you pointed out), then either take a one-way trip to a deserted island (or one with only men on it), or rip your eyes out before joining a monastery. BUT, before doing something so drastic, I would suggest getting some treatment from a qualified psychiatrist, because anyone who make blanket statements similar to what you have has a real problem. Just check first to make sure your psychiatrist of choice is not a "woman." You know how they like to mess with us real "men."

    You're wrong!

    Hope that helps.

Now get off the Internet and go to a real art gallery. If you pick one filled with abstract art you won't even see painted people at all, much less naked ones.

Still lifes and installation works are sexy. Yep, that twig in a vase does it for me every time... and those dangling lumps of perspex.... be still, my beating heart. Nothing like a battleship made out of old used tyres to float my boat, either, or a crack painted on a floor.

Maybe your persexion... sorry, perception,.. is flawed. If you can see sexy art in a baked bean advert, I salute your libido.

Sidarth, which Schmidt is that? And got any links to more of his work?

To answer Hamid's Title question, yes, in order to be an artist, you must draw people having sex. Each artwork must have at least two people bumping uglies, no matter the intentions or subject of the piece, or it's not art.

EDIT: digihamid is a bot, isn't he?

Well nudes used to be taboo, so guys used to enjoy looking at them, they still do, but its not as big a deal as it used to be. So in some cases it is, but its usually tasteful.
I dont know, it depends what youre looking at I guess. Sex sells, which is why we have prostitutes!

Sex is one of the most beautiful things in life, like a beautiful landscape, if you think that a landscape is worth painting, why not sex?

What if that landscape is akin to a Lovecraftian ocean of sick slapping waves against a greasy shoreline? Only overshadowed by the lascivious tentacles of an Old One reaching for nude sunbathers?
Come to think of it, I want to see that painting now!!

Phew, we can stop searching for a definition of art.

Oh, I don't know as if there will ever come a time when that debate is over papervamp.
I would prefer we change the "what is the definition of art" into something more like "How can we continue to tolerate and more importantly how do we stop art work that lacks in craft and execution?"

That one's 'Parkbench,' I scanned it out of my copy of Alla Prima. I actually haven't seen most of those images online anywhere, so I scanned most of the paintings to have on hand. I can send you the folder by FTP if you want. If you don't have that book, buy it! It rulez.

I think if you can portray human sexuality without it being porn, you have indeed created art.

As an example, I would put forth the puppet love scene in "Team America World Police."

It ain't porn, but it's awfully damn funny!
