    Blending/shading colors, help?

I seem to have a really hard time at blending colors properly and shading. I think at smaller views it still looks okay but when I look at it in full view I am not very pleased with the blending of the colors. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

The neck and head seem too flat try and get more form in there. I'm assuming you're using photo ref for this. You have to remember that photos flatten things out. If you are aware of that you can correct for it.

Hmm, I never thought that photos make things more flat. I will keep that in mind in the future, thank you for this input.
