I think to show you guys my problem i need to give you a little back story:
I have been into art intensely since about the sophomore year of high school. Im trained well in traditional painting and got a large amount of scholarship for MICA, a school near my house last year. Since I got to MICA i have become really scatter brained on what i want to do. I know I want to do concept work for things like video games or movies but I also intend to be a traditional oil painter. This upcoming semester my classes are so scattered it afraid I will never settle into something more specific. My major is listed as painting but im not sure thats what I want to do. Do i need to just buckle down and choose one thing to study? Do you think if I just broadly study many things and dont intensely study one I will be shooting myself in the foot? Any advice?
Illustration will have more to do with concept art than painting will, and should include classes in both traditional and digital painting.
