I can post considerably more cartoon-ish stuff. Most of it done while stuck in a meeting...

    Another page

    Eidenet,
Thank you, I kinda fell in love with the recycled paper and white pencils, they are very fulfilling to work with.

Thanks Russ. Tends to be what happens when I already have something in mind, rather than just pulling it out of my butt

You have some really interesting creature designs going on here. I don't have much in the way of a critique, just throwing some encouragement your way (and general appreciation for the Labyrinth-esque piece -- great movie!). Keep up the great work!

I really like your creature designs. The first few em, devil-like creatures gave me the same jittery feeling as when i looked into h.r. giger's devil-cult pieces. Reinforce it more and I bet you'll do fantastic with them (:

Your creatures and monsters are lovely, I like them!
Do you draw with reference or where do you get inspiration?

intrinsik - Thanks always can do with encouragement!

Bleo - We loveses Geiger, and Brom, well and many others but those tend to be the big two in my influences, as I always love their work. SO THANK YOU!!!

.empyrean. - Just pulling them out of my head, no reference, usually I am just creating shapes and then trying to make something out of them. This is just warm-up stuff, not trying to create anything. I was a medical illustrator for 5 years, and have a heavy reliance on reference, so to break myself of that crutch I started sketching for 2 hours a night with no reference, no preconceived ideas, no theme, just start making shapes and then create something from them. I am now starting to allow myself to have ideas when I go into sketching, it is GREAT practice.

Well this page pretty much sucks, but I like the balloon character, other than that CRAP!

wow your creatures are truly scary! Nice work.
I suppose no matter what I'm drawing, there will always be some sort of question in my mind about it. A work of art (even cartoon art) is never really finished; it is abandoned.
