ok, some anatomiez! still learning a lot. im trying to work from the base up with my anatomy studies. get a solid understanding of bone structure and movement and how things fit together, then muscle groups, then on to outer details like skin/wrinkles, scales, feathers, flesh, etc....
im looking at terryl whitlatch's work as a goal. look her up if you haven't already. she majored in zoology for 3 years at a college, so her understanding of animals is just insane. i wanna get that good

    Attachment 1278671

and heres that lipking oil study. had the wrong setting on my camera so the colors are all off. ill try to get a better shot later, along with some steps. face still looks like crap DX
    Attachment 1278672

oh and i have some bad news. i completely wrecked my shoulders from college gymnastics this last year and tore both of my labrums. thats the cartilage in the socket holding stuff together and im gonna need surgery on both of them to get them fixed i just got the right one scheduled for august 3, and the left is gonna be 6-8 weeks later. it sounds like i wont be able to use my arm for most of those 6 weeks so im gonna try drawing with my left hand for the time being ;_; i know thats how hannes messed up his left hand, so ill be careful about it. anyway, thats more than 2 weeks away, so im gonna try to get as much done as i can before that.

Those animal studies are looking awesome, one crit though try to make the lines more loose, i know it's kinda hard but loosen up your hand and try to make slick lines instead of "hairy" ones.

    Keep up the awesome work.

    Alex.

    Man, that Oil Study is just A W E S O M E !
Looks very, very good in my opinion.

With your hand I can tell you only to get some nice books and read them in that time.
There are lots of them out there. Because reading about art is very important, too. I think I learned lots more with some books than sitting in front of a paper and trying to get something fixed. Because sometimes books about art are so crazy motivating.

Just keep it on, you're doing well mate!
    Take care of your hands

    Flo

    The lipking study is beast!

I had a minor injury that left me to draw with only my left hand for a couple of days, helped me improve loads. Good luck with it, and hopefully you won't have to resort to drawing with your mouth like hannes haha.
