    Endless

    Hey,

I decided to start a sketchbook here so I have somewhere to store my drawings. I usually end up throwing away most of my sketches after month or so, hopefully it will be easier to see if I'm making any progress with everything in place here.

Some quick studies I've done today:

I felt compelled to learn how to draw with my left hand about one and a half year ago - progress is going pretty slowly. But I'm not about to give up now!

It feels kind of trippy drawing left handed, like I'm not fully in control of what I'm doing.

First of all I'd like to say that I strongly advise you don't trash your art..Especially after such a short time and because these are so nice. Paper doesn't take up THAT much space.. :/

Those lefty drawings are superb man, I know how weird that feels lol

ColorExcursion: Thanks! Paper seems to be taking up loads of space when there are hundreds of loose sheets lying around. But I might try finding somewhere I can neatly store all my sketches.

Here's a painting I'm working on at the moment, it's inspired by Norse Mythology:

There's an eagle sitting at the top of the world tree, Yggrasill. Underneath it is the dragon Nidhogg.
A squirrel is also living in the world tree, and every day it runs up and down the tree, bringing gossip and messages of hate between the eagle and the dragon.

ColorExcursion: Glad you like it didn't find the time to work on it today, but I'm hoping to finish it soon. And yeah, I'll probably buy some folders or something to store my sketches in.

Great work so far, and those left hand drawings are impressive! As a little critique maybe you could try pushing your values further? Some of the sketches seem to stay sorta gray. Either way, keep going! Can't wait to see some more

Great anatomies and pose sketches. I may not be the first but your left handed studies are superb. The only difference I can really detect is that the left handed drawings are a little wobbly, but still carries the same dramatic poses. Makes it look a little bit looser than your right handed ones, which are very nicely shaped. Good stuff!

Sonia Leticia: Thank you, I'll definitely work on those values.

SageTso: Thanks, glad you like them.

Bleo: It's very encouraging to heart that my left and right hand drawings are getting more similar, thanks!

I tried relying less on line and more on tone in this sketch:

Even though it is expected for the eyes in anime to be larger than normal, the ones you gave Naruto just seem to be too large and the hands feel awkward.

I'm really liking the left hand diversity!

E.C.Evil: You're right, thanks for pointing it out for me. I'm going to try out a few different poses for him and I'll keep it in mind.

Today I decided to practice environments!

I need to do more quick studies like this; I'm way to slow at painting.

I drew a boat in an environment with my left hand today, and then I burned it and sketched some nudes instead:

I think all of that left handed drawing is paying off, the difference between right and left handed drawings is getting harder and harder to notice.
