    taking the plunge

    HI,

a couple years ago i had found myself in a bit of a depression devoid of my art flojo and kind of aimless in my career path... but loe and behold, i stumbled upon CA.org and like a oasis to my scorched artscape i drank deeply of the inspiration that was abundantly found and partook of the communal art chi flowing so freely throughout the site to strengthen my martial wacom arts....

That said, i feel ready (or ready enough) to try my hand at entering the pro ring, so a bow to the ca community and i hope these random images help inspire as the many of my fellow artists have and continue to do so for me.

and yes, im looking for work.

These are Great smokenmirrors, some nice motion, good composition, nice anatomy. You've got some real personality to these and a definate style without undermining flexability.

I don't think you will have trouble finding work, just be patient and keep trying ( I mean for christ's sake I've got a full time job as a concept artist at EA and I think you have more to offer the art world than me that's for sure! Not that I'm a benchmark of quality of course )

    Good hunting.

These are fucking sick, love em.
Especialy the third piece and the warhammer one is killer as well.

I don't understand why you didn't add colour layers to it though

the first demon, the hooded dude with the beard, and the lion below that one are the strongest pieces in my opinion. i remember you posting that demon in your sb with variations...i think...wasnt to sure about it in your sb, but you really nailed the colors and values in this post. really great work dude.

Oh man, this stuff is so over the top, i love it! Finish looks great too, you should have a good shot at the job market. My question now is what field you're looking for. If it's concept art you might want to try a little more variation in subject matter. But i think you're good to go if you want to go illustration, so go for it!

The growling sharptoothed man with the braid is great, love the planes on the nose.

Awesome, awesome work. I really like the think sinue ridden neck of the first creature. He looks like he makes most of his decisions in life with his neck... if you know what I mean... probably not... its actually jibberish. Anyway, awesome stuff.

    Get more done!

Nos 4, 5, 6 & 7 are great, especially the lion. On the others I'd suggest a bit more attention paid to how light defines form, for example the heavy rim lighting in the first flattens the image. Nice work.

    You'r doing just fine.
Its rough out there, especially now... do something to set yourself apart from the others.
Good luck, and don't give up.
