Background: The Greystone Corp. has asked us here at CA.org to make up plans for TWO of their new line of weaponry with a working title of Energy Guns. You have two weeks to comply.
Their request came in three parts:
1) Each gun must fire a different energy. There are many types to choose from including:
- light - magnetic - elastic
-sound - kinetic - thermal
-gravitational - chemical - electrical....
...and so on.
2) In order to eliminate battle mistakes, each weapon must somehow clearly and visually state through design or imagery the energy used as ammo. However, they must both carry the Greystone Corp signature look (created by you) in some manner.
3) You must include a write up revealing the method in which you envision the weapon to work. Research into energies and how they function is appreciated.
NOTE: Although the title states gun, the weapon may be of any size, as long as it is physically movable by one person. Therefore, small cannons etc, are applicable. However, the shape must hold to the general butt end, hole end with trigger idea. If the entry misses or does not complete the brief, your entry will not be taken to poll.
YES!!! I love the topic! im outta town all next week but thank God for the Two week round! Pixie- I love how you make specific requirements (Geystone Corp signature, 2 weapons, Portable) I think it gives us limitations to stick to the brief but also go wild with ideas.
So here's a couple of ideas I'm working with. The big one is a type of man-portable Gauss gun, which uses electromagnetic coils wrapped around the barrel to propel a projectile forward. The other is a pistol that fires electrically-charged bullets.
Everyone has to make two weapons, each which use a different type of energy. If you are clever with your layers and lasso tool you can probably use parts of a first gun in the design of the second in order to give a continuity to the Greystone styling, as well as saving time. The two guns is the reason why I gave two weeks. There will only be one poll.
The text can be in the image, or separate (ie in your post). I don't even think it's possible to upload text files, and even if you do manage it, do not do it please. There is no limit to image size or ratios such as 1000x1000, but be sure it is viewable on an average monitor.
Here's a couple of sketches, just playing with froms and silhouettes. And the two WIPs with a bit more detail. The first one is an electromagnetic submachinegun and the second one a plasma beam heavy weapon. Any comments and crits are very welcome
WIP for gun #2- sidearm weapon that shoots a beam of elastic energy... knobs on the side control the strength of the beam (how much weight it can support) and power (to suspend, lift, or lower objects/persons)
Handle on the back gives the weapon proper weight and allows for a better grip if using weapon to scale or rappel.
Hope I don't bollocks these up when I go to digital...
