    Nice one.

Also just got pointed to something called the Dunning-Kruger effect (look it up on Google). It probably describes me to a T

Lots of learning going on today.

    Heey! =) The man's right, that's a great quote =)

You're doing fine for colours, for example in your last guy =) Now jus work within the values you already got on the canvas, pick varying hues/saturations out of those values, for example red cheeks, and also smooth out strokes for a finish =) Could also add cast shadows and such =)

Arrgggh but I don't know how to paint myself anyway, so don't listen to me!!!

Hey Wasabi, good work over here. Regarding the color management, the best suggestion I can give you is to do still lifes. Theory is cool, but you already have it, as I read you bought a ton of color related books. Now you need to practice with colored objects in front of you and look closely how colored surfaces react, how lighting affect the tones.
Exercises like this and this can help you a lot. They´re on that thread.
Color treatment also depends on materials and surface types, so keep studying from still lifes, i learnt a lot from it.
You can also experiment with saturation adjustments to exaggerate colors and observe how they work. Sometimes i work from too much saturated colors and then I decrease the saturation just to reach an adequate tone range. keep experimenting!
    hope it helps!

    Edward: Hey there, mate! =)
Thanks for the tips ma man, really help me keep going, stop by your book soon soon. Cheers !

Ricardo: Man, thank you another time for basic tips, im trying to understand now how to paint. Gonna do a lot more stills i think. Cheers

Todays stuff, trying to focus a little bit more in values and stuff. Some pencil lines and some sort of drapery that ended up looking like green smoke (not happy at all) going to keep studying that shit.

I think you would like it more if you modeled his chest shape more like a block (from Bridgman) and then softened it.

Right now the values suggest a flat shape.

Do more creative pieces ... get those fails out of your system, and push on toward the good ones

Hey man, your last girls are great, I really love them, looks like you kicked that art block, and tbh, there really is no such thing as an art block, it is just your mind telling you shit, don't listen to that =) Keep up the good work bro, really enjoyed your last two drawings, like those lots =) =)

Those are some very nice head studies.
You are working real hard and you did a humongous
amount of drawings and paintings lately. There is no correct sure recipe
for success, but I think that if you keep on working like
you did till now, you definitely cannot fail. As for an advice,
I would say that you should draw more from life, some still
lives or any object that you see in an everyday life. Draw pencils,
scissors, screwdrivers, people, cars, anything, anything can come
in consideration. You will improve your observational skills like this
and you will manage to do more realistic drawings and paintings.
Just watch how lights and shadow reacts on certain objects
under certain type of lighting and environment. So nothing else should I say,
I will not waste your art time, you just keep your sword
and battle flag risen and continue fighting.
