    Question about a painting

Hey. I was wondering about this painting I'm making a master copy of. There is a weird green fog at the right side of her face and I'm not sure if the painting actually looks like that or if it's just a result of the reproduction... o.O I can see how it sort of enhances the mood of it but at the same time I have no idea why it would actually be there.

Also if anyone knows where I could find a higher resolution version of it that would be great!

    Thanks.

Ergh, that's not a great reproduction... I'm pretty sure that green schmutz and the bits of white schmutz all over the top of the picture is glare from the varnish. Bad lighting, bad photo.

Looks kind of like Edmund Blair Leighton but not quite. John Byam Shaw? Great, now this is going to bug me the rest of the day. Like I don't already waste enough time here....

    It's Frank Dicksee.

Edit: I had a quick look for a higher res version, and there doesn't seem to be one to hand. The image comes from the gallery of Peter Nahum, and indicates the painting has been sold, so is probably in a private collection somewhere. I once contacted Peter Nahum over a painting and he was very helpful, so maybe a polite email might be productive...
