my copy of george bridgman-s "human macchine" and "book of hundred hands" arrived in the post! so gonna get to studying those. day 1, the jaw! wow

somehow the way he draws jaws the ones i see photos of are different. the actual shape is different! i will need to investigate.

I love these! Especially the hands. I also like the drawing of the girl with the big hair and the hand running through it. It all makes me want to do more studies, I need me some Bridgeman books!

Wow! Great stuff. And that quite a lot of work in the time since you've joined. I can even see your development between the first posts and that very lat one.

Those female head/neck/throat sketches are particularly excellent. Keep up the pace.

Btw, love the site. Those are some incredible drawings.

I like the hands you do, but everything has improved from the beginning.

I didn't think it was possible to be called an artist when you have nothing to say. It's like being a writer who publishes individual words as books and expects to be praised for it.

You're doin' a load of studies, it's really impressive and most importantly- it's paying off.

Keep up the good work, Are you starting to feel what you learn is soaking into your imaginitive work?

    love your work !!!

I love your website and your animations are KICK ASS !!
You got the boxes EH, animators learn that from school
I think. Your HANDS are nice but use the box for it as
well as you use it already for all the other stuff.

I see some very inspiring pix here but I am sure the hand will
improve if you're doing them first BOXY, than make them organic.

Ps.: My Favorite ani I hope it's from you.

Mincx thanks i havnt actually started bridgman hands yet, most my hand stuff is from looking/studying my own hand or from the handviewer at posemaniacs
[o] thanks.. means a lot to me
    Black Spot thank you
Naidy i am able to draw much better from imagination, and getting proportions right in the things i draw is getting much better too. its improved my imagination drawing and also changed the actual things that i draw from imagination. its changed a lot.
but on the other hand im not yet really integrating this into the imagination drawings i do with ink and so on, which seems to be a totally different process and im not sure how they fit (cos the ink stuff is all about getting every line right instead of the concepty refiney thing with pencils). im sure itll have some positive effects though
    thank you
iven hehe thank you.. i learnt the boxes from book of bones (http://conceptart.org/forums/showthr...59293#post=675 ). i only just started animation school at animationmentor.com last term, we dont really draw though. that anim isnt mine lol, my stuff is all at aks9.newgrounds.com. that anims funny though, thanks for showing me

I like a lot your graphical stuff #53 ! Maybe next time try to play more with tone and mass variations , like adding more black in some areas... Keep improving!

im gonna keep an eye on this thread, im also learning anatomy now, and looks like i started on the same , with even the same books as you
wel you r a lil bit better :p
should do more pencil stuf too, trying to draw with wacom is pain in the ass

o, a lil tip for the first page:
those sketches where you experiment with values
there you have a sphere, a spehre also has a reflect light at the darkest side

    il post a link here
    http://www.gemworld.com/Spheres/Sphe...Obsidian1L.jpg

the place where the sphere is the darkest, after that place its bright again, kinda hard to explain in words, picture says all

that grey light is caused by the lightrays who reflect on the ground back on the sphere

(sorry my english is bad )

    your anatomy rocks :

Hey . I love those neck studies! I feel like I should concentrate on doing some dedicated anatomy studies.

Do you feel like they have been paying off? I've still yet to go through all those Loomis and Bridgman books, etc. They sound pretty essential, judging by what people say.

iven thanks for the tip on the contrast, ive done that with these scans. going to use some darker pencils too so i can mess around with shading. thanks for the kind comment
in2eternity thanks i will. recently ive only been doing samey bridgman, i need to get away from it..
HannesD aah thanks for the tip i actually learnt about that in the peer project here on CA, though I havnt posted anything from there. and your english is great! put a link to your sketchbook in your signature so everyone can see it better!
Royzy yaeh they really have been paying off..... i used to have no idea about anything abotu drawing a person, literally i couldnt do it. now i feel like i could get something out, i understand things a little better. not that well but im sure as i keep at it my understanding will keep growing. definitely worth it
i didnt like loomis much (though i only did a few pages of one) but ive stuck pretty well to this bridgman.
    nice blog btw
