    Gian's Goodies pt.2 - Environment Concept Art

Hello all! My name is Gian Marayag. I've been in and out of these forums, but it's been a while since I've posted. I mainly specialize in environments. And I just recently graduated from Otis College of Art and Design this past Spring. I think a couple of my buddies posted their work on here, so I thought I'd contribute as well. Here are some pieces from my graduating portfolio....

Wow Man this is cool stuff! Environments are excellent and the piece with the walking AFV complete with nose art and rust etc is really nice. Just had a stroll through your blog. Excellent body of work. Love the Space Pineapple. Very cool design.

We are remembered only by what we leave behind.

Hey there Gian, nice to see a fellow Otis graduate (I graduated some years ago). Probably the strongest pieces are the cool one with the shiny floor (3rd one) and the last one. They are all nice pictures, but the others lack areas of focus.

Example, the one with the walking tank in the snow: Some hard lines with detail would be great, as it is where people will look and right now it's a little disappointing that it lacks detail. The guy sitting on the tank facing the right seems a little under-dressed for the climate and his lower leg is too short.

    Agree?

You Otis folks dominate. I've picked my jaw up three times now. I can really get a sense for how these if locales would look, feel and even move, if they were in a film. Great stuff.

dang man, nice stuff! When doing interiors like the shiny floor one, do you use any 3d programs for basic structure/perspective? Cheers man.

metal fingers: no 3D, but now that i look back, i think 3D would have made it a bit easier
