I can see why. The cover belongs in the crit center. I might just order it though.

Edit: The book should arrive at my house in 3-4 business days.

Amazon having an error again? One time they screwed up a few months ago and their huge hardcover comics went from 99 dollars to 5 bucks or something for a few days. The people who bought it within that time frame got what they wanted though.

Probably. But this is the only book I spotted with a heavy discount.

It probably wasn't an error. It just means Amazon sold the last of their own stock and it's now the independent sellers who are setting the price, and many don't know their arse from their elbow. Amazon.co.uk has Spec 16 at £13.11.

I've got stacks of art books here, some of them brand new, that I thought I might as well get rid of so I set myself up as an Amazon seller and stuck them on at about £25, next to the sellers that were asking £100 - £200. Nobody bought them even at £25. I sold a couple on ebay for £12 but at that price it's not worth the hassle of posting them.

I tried buying one from a seller right after the 5 dollar ones were gone for 8.75. Got an email from amazon and the seller that it had been shipped. A few days later got this in my email (and a refund)

We are sorry to find out that due to a glitch in our computer system, we did not find that this title was actually out of stock (wtf?). Please ignore the previous shipping notice that was sent by mistake.

We have canceled your order and a issued full refund to you. We are very sorry for any inconvenience.

    Sincerely yours,
    Bordeebook
I went to look at the book again on amazon and saw this...

    5$ gem

Just got mine today (one week earlier than the shipping prevision I was given for my country) and I love it. A real treat, plenty of artists, plenty of styles, plenty of ideas. I find such books have an educational value, besides the humbling energy of them, in that you can compare page after page many successful images with one another and observe what makes the special ones even more successful than successful.
I am really happy with it and from now I will keep an eye on the future (and past!) Spectrum editions regardless of discounts.

    Thank you again, Parka81!
