2x 1 hour limit sketches
This is part of a project that i am doing along side a friend, i got their brief from college and am sort of sidelining it. 1. to help support them and keep them motivated and 2. because i get some good practice out of it, mostly also because i can't afford to study art or design. Will post more about this in the next post though as i progress through it.

An image i am working on for Reiq's challenge on DA so his character concept rendered in my "style" i don't quiet think i found my style but it is not something i focus on to much i just keep painting and sketching for the fun of it and change around as i get bored and inspired by different stuff
More of a current piece still in progress that i worked on last night.

The two paintings i have decided to call done and am moving on, plus they are slowing my machine down so it's getting hard to work further on them, well the last one at least. The silly sketches i am cutting out more and doing studies instead, i tend to do those on the train, and studies i do at work when i have free time or when smokers go for smoke breaks. so a lot more studies coming regularly.

Some environments i have been playing with. The last one is one i plan to take to a fully painted level or as best i can. hopefully next Thursday i can return with it completed and some studies of environments too.
Always a thing i seem to avoid, like hands and feet, but i have some more anatomy sketches coming soon next week too (just want a sufficient amount to add at once than 2 pages of studies from my sketchbook.)

first pic: i was playing around in my little comic cartoony style
second and third are some superhero twins i was trying to create
fourth and fifth are process of an environmental style painting i am doing
6th image of all the sketched ladies are 10min poses, gave myself 10min limit to sketch each pose, i need to so those daily along with the last two post which are 1 hour speed paintings
I never got around to do scans of my sketchbook, mostly due to being lazy XD so will add those tomorrow

More pictures yay \o/
OK first one was me doing the one hour portrait thing again, then the second is some concepts i have started for a project i have been setting up and trying to get started for a while but always let myself get distracted and the last two are just some more anatomy studies from my sketchbook.
No studies post next week as i won't have access to my scanner, but will definitely try get some finished images to post nice pretty polished ones XD

Hi! Glad to see you here

Thank you i'm trying to get into CA, but it's very intimidating and drawing anime sort of stuff doesn't help. But i'll keep working and studying hard, doing my thing till my work is full of awesome
July 18th, 2011 #23
CA is very big project and it's very easy to get lost here I see you are having a big progress

@Vakhara thank you ...been studying hard and working harder to improve, glad it is showing XD
Some studies from last night and i did some more work on my Dark angel image.
The studies are a 1 hour anatomy study of the head and then 2 hours of application to a painting. I used reference for the base of the pose but made a few adjustments taking detail out and making it simpler. Was also great to work on my speed which i wish to increase.
The last painting is a real challenge for me, i don't paint nudes and it's not allowing me to be lazy on anatomy. I'm also creating this as a bench mark for my anatomy knowledge so i am not using reference, despite the huge urges to.

I cannot believe your sb hasn't had more comments yet. I'm subscribed.
This is just awesome. And I am saying this as someone who really dislikes female focus
Your bridgman studies are fan-tas-tic, keep it going.
Participate in a ChoW and you'll get some fans quickly!

@Gwendz , thank you very much ... you know me been working as hard as i can the last 3 or 4 months, it is also easier when you are on the mission too, it keeps me motivated. Glad i help keep you going too, hope you get right asap so you can get back to your art
@LordLouis, thank you too ... honestly i still love painting women, as sadly most of the good studies are of males. But the plus side is i am drawing and painting more males now too ... hopefully i can expand to creatures too...i always bounce around with styles and stuff as i find my way.
Thanks for the tip about the Chow, i've heard about it last week and am keep to get into that...just been clearing up space on my schedule so i am not taking on more than i can handle. I'll give next weeks Chow a go

First piece is a Roberto Ferri Study, i called it finished there even though i could probably put more into it, but i just wanted to move on to new work and get to the two pieces below it.
The second one was a hack up from the initial concept, i felt it wasn't working with the water hitting someones face so i dropped it out and when with what you see now, it's still a WIP and a lot more polishing and maybe additions of some graffiti elements
The last piece is a rework i started on the weekend to help get me out of a 3-4 day painting drought and slump. The base idea is it's Cymopolea (or Kymopoleia) the daughter of Poseidon, with an obvious power to control water. Am not to excited about the pose, so focused more on the rendering on this one as my first major attempt at water.
Any and all input, feedback or crits are more than welcome and encouraged

A painting i feel i rushed through this weekend, my values in it feel all off :/
and my other painting i have called a day on. I know i will be far to busy with studies to get anymore work done on it.
...will return with studies tomorrow
