It's a pity to hear your focus is shifting, dude. Cause I'd love to see you finish out some of the mech designs you've got in here. They're really good shapes - so good I'm sure they'll influence what i'm doing - and they'd look really great if you went in with some hard brushes and started actually defining all the forms. I don't know if you're refining them elsewhere, but these look like speedpaintings or thumbs. The truth is, they're totally great sillhouettes and would look terrific as fully finished concepts.
The Panasonic Security one and the one to the right of this: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1195267311 are particularly strong.
I love your work! Your creatures are fantastic, and your textures are great! I like your little cartoon fox too
Hi. I'm not dead!
Long story short, I've been busy.
Update: My 3rd year tutor hated me and failed me in my first term (I was previously on a 2.1 average), and then failed me again in the 2nd term, denied me a place in our graduation show and made it so that it was impossible for me to graduate. I would have had to re-take my 3rd year. Fuck that. So I quit uni and went to my part time design job, applied for full time and got it with a generous starting salary! Fingers up to my tutor then who continuously lectured me about having no knowledge of the "real working industry".
So yes, I failed my illustration degree. 3 years waisted. Oh well, I have a good job now.
There have been other things going on in my life recently. Right now I'm living at a friends house out of black bags and boxes waiting to move in to my new house with my gf. We move in August 2nd. Can't wait. Once I'm settled in I plan on getting back into the arting thing and getting some sort of portfolio together for some freelance illustration work.
Until then, here's some stuff I managed to drag off my hard drive.
It's some old unfinished school stuff, sketches and a freelance job I hope I can show. I had to re-paint an awful illustration for a new museum in London. It never got used but was a nice bit of quick money. Try and guess which is mine and which is the original "illustration" : ]
I have some sketchbooks and a bunch of DS colours stuff too but it's all packed away in random boxes. I'll wait till I move : ]
I've got some work stuff that I can't show for a while, but will post as soon as I can.

oh my lord that was a really awful thing that you had to repaint =P yours looks so much better! obviously.
cool RE stuff, is it for fun or is it for an actual fan comic?
Love how the creature snouts look wet and juicy, fresh painterly look.
Sketchbook!! Please help me improve!
good to se you back. sorry to har about your spot of bother/ That sounds like a horrible thing to go through at the end of your degree. Have you considered transfering your credits over from the first two years and doing your 3rd year elsewhere? It seems a shame not to get your bit of paper.
I really like those last few digital paints of creatures: that brushwork is really good fun: the directionl strokes across the forms really add some solidity and dynamism.
Good luck in the future mate! Look forward to seeing more from you.
LOVE the creature creations!
The detail you add must send you bananas at times!!

hp - Hehe yeah. I think it was made by some 3d film prosthetics guy. To be fare I think it was made with the intention of being re-made by a proper illustrator. The RE stuff was for school.
Dished - Hey thanks : ]
Dirty C - Hey dude, how's things? Thanks
KidApe - Hehe Thanks
cakeypigdog - Hey yeah I did consider it, but I doubt I'll ever get the time now. I'm happy in my job, I don't think I'll ever need that piece of paper.
Gail_Blitzy - Hmm, you must be talking about my old work... Thanks : ]
Well that's all my replies out of the way!
New art will be coming fairly soon. I move into my new house next weekend, so as soon as I settle in I'll be posting sketches and stuff : ]

LOL dude i am not having any luck with your stuff at all! Ok so i go to your blog and it does not somehow have any place to put comments on. So i tried to email you but your hotmail account seem to not exist, then try to look at your sb and it says it has 46 pages but evertime i click 'next' or '46' it just keeps reloading page 45 it must be something worth seeing if i have to work this hard to get at it
hey cartoonfox, great to see your progress since 2004
it's very inspiring to see hard work pay off 5 years and 45 pages of sketchbook later
