    hey cartoonfox these are nice, like someone mentioned before the texture's looks good, but the only thing is that they kinda look a little stiff it's like you concentrate on the texture then the entire pose, loosen up a bit. Still a good job keep posting.

    hey thanks for replying

    Josef K. hi, thanks. hmmm,,, different in what way? style? i guess they are all abit samey. i do have another sketchbook with lifedrawings, which are completley different style to these, but i cant scan them 'cos my scanner is crap and the light pencil tone doesnt show up well. i'll try to vary my sketches a bit.

    2kre8 well, your partley right. although i sketch the creature, ink it and then concentrate on the texture once the basic shape is done, i do need to loosen up. hopefully after maybe a month of practice with these and my life drawings, i'll start making more dynamic poses and 'loosen up;

    thanks. i'm off down the gym now, but once i get back, i'll start some drawing.

    peace

    #7 || monday | 1st march | (2004)

    sorry, i'll try to be more loose, but it will take time

    also, dont think of this as a sketchbook, think of it more as a log for my creatures. like that guy who did that thread where he designed a new cartoon character each day for 30 days, if you remember. it was a pretty cool thread.

    only i will try to go one better and beat his record of 30 days,,, if that is the record, i didnt stay to see the end of the thread but anyway, i will try to go on for as long as i can,,, not one day will be skipped, not even the weekends!!

    ...can it be done? i sure hope so lets see how long i can last without taking a (day) break

    few, nearley missed a day,.... allready man, this is gonna be hard.

    i was real busy today, so i've only had time to do the general creature. no texture. but i'll do it tommorrow and you can compare, to see if the texture makes it better or worse.

    Your level of detail is overwhelming, grats on your work. I'd suggest, however, to concentrate more on alternation of your motives than on every tiny piece of skin.. whatever. ahh tired. sry for the bad english.

    #9 || wednesday | 3rd march | (2004)

    can you tell i have a new sketchbook? i havent finished the other, but i picked up the new one by accedent. so now i have a half filled one and one with one page used

    jeff jaws, thanks man, much appreciated
    alternation of my motives?? sorry, i'm not sure what that meens but if you meen concentrate on the shape and pose more than the texture/detail. then i know, its a bad habit but i am practicing more dynamic positions, practicing anatomy etc, but i cant scan it in cos my scanner cant see the light pencil lines. (i sketch lightley )

    but thanks, i'm still learning, so hopefully i'll slowly improve in the actual creatures, and do more full bodies....
    lol, now i'm tired. need sleep

    peace.

    sketchbook #1 starts 1st april (2004)

    hehe i'm back with a huge dump of stuff. i started this sketchbook on the 1st of april, when i went to amsterdam for the great great workshop. (it started 2nd but i got there a day early)

    anyway, here is what i have done in it so far.... in 12 days.

    sorry for the huge download, but after this it'll all be smaller. this is just because i'm 12 days late posting this ^-^

    obviosly, the digital coloured ones are not in my sketchbook, but i'm practinig with painter, so i may as well post them, to get help.

    the "poop page" ones are ones i really really hate, but i must post everything, to get crits for all my stuff.

    so any crits much welcome, thanks

    ... more to come

    peace

    hey man, how are you ^-^

    yeah the quality is crud. my brother has a fricking awsome scanner (it was real cheap too ^-^) but his Mac is in for repairs and i dont have the driver on my Mac (cant find the cd that came with the scanner) so i'll have to wait a few days, but then maybe i can use his, as long as his back is turned ^-^

    i wish they did kick ass, but its all practice.

    yeah man, i'll meet you at 10, upstairs ^-^

    hopefully see all you guys again in prague ( i have to go^-^)

    ok, so i maneged to scan some of my life drawings i've been doing

    i started life drawing in february, went on to march. stoped in april (just got a bit lazy, its quite a walk from my house) and now i've started back up again now in may. so thats 2 months.
    so here's some of my pages, in order that they where done (first ones in feb all the way up to the latest ones done last tuesday)

    enjoy, sorry for the bad quality. the lines are very light, so i had to darken the scan a bit.

    [edit]Photobucket deleted most of these before I could save them, sorry.[/edit]

    ok, here is my first lame attempt at the quite fantastic coro technique. and let me tell you, he makes it look SO easy. ^-^
    its not quite finished, i need to grab some gouaches tommorrow (i only have white right now) to finish it off. but its allready a huge disaster ^-^

    "quit laughing at the back" ^-^
    its a lot brighter in real life, my scanner is so shit.

    i need help. big help ^-^
    getting help from coro himslef would be very cool, but i doubt he'll see this thread. any help from anyone would be greatley appreciated.

    DUDE! i love your shit!!! great stuff, i especially like that mini-bul'l/sheep type thing, and the coro technique...but, if i may point out one thing, you should work on your life [even though i'm not one to talk] even though it is good, there are some stuff that you could work on,if you don't mind me saying of course...
