Hi Guys I am a beginer and I want to start with eyes however before I ebgin I was wondering if you could give me some tips to drawing eyes thanks in advance
pick up a copy of grey's anatomy and/or anatomy for the artist. take a close look at the structure of the eye including the surrounding muscles. also pay attention to how the iris is framed by the lids, this is key to conveying emotions.
I don't suggest just learning eyes at first, you should learn how to draw the entire head/face in it's basics.
If you are going to though, try to not think of eyes as a flat shape on the face, think of the actual eyeball and its curved shape. Here's a diagram from Loomis' Drawing the Heads and Hands that I remember when thinking about this.
I also suggest drawing eyes from life (use a mirror!) and then try to draw some from imagination using what you just learned.
Thanks for the adevice well I alrfeady know the basics but I am looking forward learning each part separetely startig for the eyes.
Anyways that loomis chart looks inmensily helpful thanks in advance
