    Smile I'm going to Europe!

I'm getting a plane ticket to Denmark in September for my birthday. I'll only have a week and I only have 3k saved up. Any advice on places to go in that area. So far my plan is to make a trangle from Denmark to Berlin to Amsterdam, maybe hop a boat to London and back to Denmark.
I want my sketchbook to go all international on your asses! So if you guys know of any Awesome museums, hostels or great places to chill out and sketch along the way, or even any art supply stores where I can buy some fabled European materials. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Literally every Scandinavian/ Finnish / Swedish/ I have ever met were really cool, you'll have a great time.

Go north, eat Reindeer, get pissed on strangely flavoured cider, listen to really questionable music.

    Upload pictures here.

What cities in Finland or Sweden would you recommend? Any great sculpture gardens?

    PS: I fucking love venison.

I recommend hostels, and possibly that couchsurfing.com. Stay with as many friends as you can to save on costs. Take a digital camera and a laptop to save all your photos - you'll hate it if your camera memory fills up and you can't save things to your hard drive.

Bring a large sketchbook and drawing supplies. Try and find any rocky beaches. Amsterdam and Copenhagen are beautiful port cities for drawings. Copenhagen has brightly colored buildings and boats. Amsterdam is all about bricks and canals.

Amsterdam has incredible museums - the Rijks museum has tons of Rembrandt, Vermeer, Hassam, and others. There's the Van Gogh museum. Anne Frank's house.

Try to get to Paris. That's the artists' holy grail in Europe. They have hostels that are decent, and the museums and food..... Yeah, go there.

If you ever run out of drawing materials you might want to visit a Boesner.
There are branches in Berlin and one in Denmark. I've only ever been to the ones in Austria but they should have whatever you need for sketching : )

Here a link to their site where you can see where the shops actually are

    http://www.boesner.com/boesner/servl...25f00a0ee:-876

Sadly the site doesn't seem to translate to english.

I wish you a save trip and hope that we'll see a few nice sketches : )

Thanks Kish! I want to pick up Pelican ink. The green label is supposed to be THE SHIT and pink label is made from actual squid ink. The only way Americans can get it is in Europe.

I'm a bit out of touch with London, but in my experience if you go there head towards Soho and Camden, their markets are just the best for any style of vintage clothing you require

I once went to Berlin for about a weekend with the rest of the family. I thought it was great, and the city has far more to offer than I (and the rest of us) initially thought. I wish we stayed there for longer

Mauermuseum Checkpoint Charlie, a museum about the Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charlie, the only gateway between East and West Berlin at that point.
    Reichstag
Fernsehturm, a huge building with a rotating restaurant at the top, showing a 360 degree panorama of Berlin
Brandenburger Tor, the last remaining city gate of Berlin
Tiergarten Park, with in the middle the Berlin Victory Column
Botanischer Garten, the largest Botanical Garden in Europe.

As for Paris: My favourite part of the city is La Basilisque du Sacré Coeur. It's a church located on Montmartre, the highest point of the city, showing a nice overview of the rest of Paris (you can see the Eiffel Tower from there).
The Artist's Square is located on Montmartre as well, and it's practially around the corner of Sacre Coeur.

Find out why they eat their fries with mayo instead of catsup.
