At first I thought the intended message was "Why aren't people leaving? C'mon, let's get the hell outta here while we still can!", and I was like, haha, that's pretty goofy... but now I get it.

Last time i messed around with usergroups i didn't sleep for days, it's a really crazy area, same as permissions hehe.
And yes, the usergroup-by-sketchbook thing is very downsided as you'd have to set it up as so if one user would start a sketchbook, his usergroup would shift. Also you'd go crazy figuring out what usergroup new users would be in

actually shouldn't it be as simple as linking the unique user ID to the update funktion? its been I while since i did .net coding, but it should be pretty easy...

of cause you'd have to change the SQL "Order by" sentence somewhat... hmm i'm way to tired to come up with code, but im sure theres some genious way of doing it...

Incinerated, you're very right but that also means you can't limit the function to a single subforum. Therefore you couldn't implement it for the sketchbooks alone. That means that a brilliant thread started by let's say Daren Bader would forever stay buried as the thread starter.. So that also means a ton of extra work trying to Sticky every worthy thread.
    Which is a bit redundant.

Still it's a solid starting point, i'll give it some thinking. Thanks mate.

Can we make it proper etiquette to post a brief artist's statement when posting art? I'm trying to avoid getting "well that's what I was going for." when critiquing. Plus knowing why you used a certain color or drew a character a certain way is just good practice.

This is an excellent idea. I've been trying to do this whenever I post art lately.

The original thread title asked "why are people leaving?" - a valid question that won't be answered until certain people come back and start posting again. I've still got my fingers crossed.

The title was changed, probably by admin, to "why aren't people leaving". The intent, I suppose is to show that many posters are still here... That's the intent, but then it shouldn't be posed as a question, which indeed asks, "why the hell are we still here, why aren't people leaving this place is terrible."

The proper change to the title should be, "Why people aren't leaving," a declarative statement. Any question posed with a negative form verb attaches an opinion to it - that the person asked should agree with the questioner.

That's your English lesson for the day.

I only look at the pretty pictures.

Picked up on some cool possibillities in the forums.

Actor's without J O B's or waiting for parts could do CHOW's using their own selves(Canon) OR
Pay someone to use their ugly mug and thereby creating char portfolio?

I'm sure there's stuff going on like that allready somewhere but there's some food for thaught for artists who never thaught about it.

Now I just need to hook up with a local actor who can scratch my back

This was supposed to be conspiracy but now has gone off topic abstracting it into tangible ideas. Hmf!!

Are you dreaming of the day your acting career would take off?
Too little people seen your face?
Why not star in a chow or two?

If you are an actor and would like to star in a few character desighn pictures, drop zaorr a pm.

Why should I desighn imaginary faces when I could use yours?

I'm sure it's not worth any monetary recompensation on your part but who know's maybe someday you could help me in another way. That way it could be experrimental and if it works..

Next image shortcut key sounds great. How about Thread Tools -> Only show posts from thread starter? I know the search function is good for this, but the image resolution there is too low.

Most of the time Brendan doesn't like to see people get banned, but this mostly because he finds the particular brand of foul-mouthed arrogance belonging to those who get banned mildly entertaining. So much the better that he is not a moderator.

Brendan, being a simple creature, is fairly easily pleased and quite likes the forums as they are, though admits there's always room for improvement. for the most part he feels fairly humbled by these boards. As such, he often retreats into referring to himself in third person when about to make bold requests, so as to distance himself from the very arrogance he find so entertaining.

In light of everything he read in this thread, Brendan would like to see minor changes to the uploading manager and multiple ban's [sic] for both zaorr and the person who misspelled Ilaekae in the tags.

I've done some more research on that thread bump issue. I still haven't found the way to make the thread bump only if the thread creator posts.

Actually... "Why people aren't leaving" isn't a declarative statement. In fact, it's not even a statement at all; it's an incomplete sentence. An example of a declarative statement would be, "People aren't leaving."
