ROUND #203:: Rosie, top student in Necromancy

    DESCRIPTION

    Rosie, top student in Necromancy

Rosie von Kreuzberg is top student in Necromancy at the University of Dark Arts. This school has been around for hundreds of years and only the most talented students are accepted! With her talents and skills, Rosie could easily become the most powerful Necromancer in history...

Design Rosie in her student outfit!

    - Setting can be anything; from modern age to high-fantasy worlds.
    - Maybe she’s arrogant because of her powers, maybe she is very shy and modest, it’s up to you to give Rosie a fitting personality. Show this in your design!
    - Age should be fitting for a university student, around her twenties.

Arthur, I love it! I didn't think to go humorous, per se... If I can figure out what I'm doing, I'll want it to be as creepy as possible...

Heres my take so far im thinking of making her like some kind of gothic schoolgirl but make her kind of cheery, kinda like she is the total opposite of most of her classmates, more ideas welcome!

No shot-great stuff man lol kinda went with the same idea you had totally didnt know you did that with the whole zombie carring books i was gana go with skeleton may tweak that some more so its not so much alike

Pacha-like the direction of this one very dynamic pose

DIMAGYAN- great stuff man, you could try maybe a backpack of some kind?

Rusty-great job last round man took my vote, but the idea your g\having is just awesome kinda had the same thoughts couldnt get harry potter characters out of my head

MasterTroglodyte-i kinda dig the far left one the most so far but great stuff man, probly to help the creepyness she could just be covered in like limbs and stuff

Arthur 'Two Sheds' -lol love it, zombie Einstein ftw, maybe could also show the cat as a zombie or undead something, just an idea, but great stuff

I don't usually do cartoony stuff but I just thought of a mischievous little girl as best student. She's in the Necro prinicipal's office being disciplined for...oh I don't know, setting zombie kittens lose int he cafeteria or something.

OK so here is the initial sketch. I'm hoping for some early crits as I want to really make the most of this one. I'm pretty sure the outfit is too sexy and not "student" enough yet, so I plan to play around with the clothing more. Also, the golem in the back is just a placeholder, not sure what he will end up looking like, but I might get rid of him and the chain if I see too many ppl going with that idea. Maybe a bat up on a perch? I'm also thinking of having her face show slight signs of decay as she is starting to get into more hardcore necro stuff in her studies, not sure yet. Much to do, let me know if it's any good at all up to this point, thanks!

artiphats — I like your character's style, etc. but I feel as though the pose and facial expression of the character is lacking something; of course, it's difficult this early in your piece to say much, but I feel as though she's still devoid of a personality. I'd also try to play with the placement of her monster and attempt a more dynamic layout. Otherwise, I'm pumped to see what you come up with!

artiphats- hey man great start but yea i agree with the outfit needs more of a "student" touch, and i also agree with master try and shoot for a more dynamic pose/expression, but in all keep at it man!

rgeorge- love it! maybe you could add a few of the zombie cats running around

Rosie and her possessed school-bag. She always had a nack for the alternative so why not summon a spirit into her bag. It comes with all kinds of interdimensional space benefits but can be a bit gnarly on some days as well.

I have a good mind of starting a petition to forbid interesting ChOW topics to be chosen during exam season. Seriously.

All though, that would mean there would be no more ChOW at all... *head scratch*

One other thing - I don`t think I`ll ever get over the line quality Arthur and Dymagian are showcasing here. You do Voodoo people. Admit it! And Pixeltuner, I was just wondering if that bag was for sale somewhere? I sure could use that kind of spell for my pant pockets...*idea!*

Mah usual pile`o`crap. If you would excuse me now, I have to go hunt for references. I can haz sucky anatomy!

EDIT: calling it done for...today. Or am I?

EDIT of the edit - Working some more. why do faces look great up close, but craptastic from the "far"? Such a conundrum...:/

EDIT of an edited edit - I hate legs. Noses as well. Next up - nip/tucking and getting OCD on details. Fun! -_-

EDIT of an edit of an...aaah, whatever - To color or not to color? Pro - possible "pop" effect on the image, better atmosphere. Cons - I`m bad at color, so I`ll likely mess it up. Also, b/w seems to be appropriate for this subject. Must trust own instincts and let go, I reckon. Si non confectus, non reficiat
