I figured I'd throw my hat in the ring with a (hopefully) daily updated sketchbook. I don't know much but I do know that the quickest way to improve is through practice. Hopefully this keeps me drawing and fuels me. Critiques and comments are always appreciated.
This first bunch is all digital
Here's some rougher sketche's from my pad. I've started looking through Hampton's "Figure Drawing: Design and Invention" and plan on adding some studies from the book to my daily activities.
Thanks for the encouragement eekolite. I hope you check in time to time and see how I'm doing.
So the power in my neighborhood just kicked the bucket taking several hours worth of work on a landscape study I was doing...I guess the important thing is that the power failure can't take away what I've learned. Oh well just have to keep at it.
I've included the initial sketch (of the landscape) along with a couple studies and digital life drawing in photoshop. More drawing and painting tomorrow.
So my it's been a week since my last update despite the claim that this would be a daily sketchbook. The good news is that I've been doing art every single day even if I've waited until tonight to unleash it all. I even went to 3 life drawing sessions. Here's hoping the coming week is as successful as this one.
Still trucking away...
Another update. A mix of paint gestures, a couple digital paintings, some scribble gestures and the odd blind contour drawing.
Your figure drawings are very good, you seem to get better and better with the structure, great job!I also love the loose gesture drawings, keep it up!
