    Striving for improvement

Hi people! I'm 22 years old and really really really want to improve my skills.
I just bought a wacom and am experimenting with PhotoShop. Here are some of my latest works. I'll try to post traditional stuff another time. Please honor me with some comments and critiques. Thanks!

    batch of images

the last image is a character I'm working on. I'm thinking of naming her Libertina. There's obviously some Harley Quinn influence...

I'm not exactly in a position (gud enough to be taken to heart) to give any to-heart advice, so all I can offer is praise and questions and the like.

Do you have any technically stuff? Simple stuff with some of the planning still showing, in other words? Showing those would be a good way to see into how you start drawings, etcetera etcetera.

But again, grain of salt. <_>

For the finished drawings and paintings I don't have wips, if that's what you mean. Sorry.
But! I will start posting sketchbook stuff.

the first image was just a speed portrait of someone on the newspaper.
second image, anatomy practice from a Peter Paul Rubens piece.
    third, quick breast placement sketches.
4th and 5th, supposedly they were form construction practice but they look more like gesture drawings to me.
last ones are crappy character sketches.

Now, THESE are something tangible to look at. Rather, it's easier to see what's going on at foundation sketches and easier to not sound like an idiot. Which I do too often. <_>

Like what I'm about to say.

It all looks good. Everything is where it's supposed to be, proportion is [fairly] accurate, and aside from the bike in the 4th sketch and the hair being strandy in all the sketches, nothing needs to be picked apart.

Keep looking for ways to improve yourself on traditional and digital mediums (It seems you use both). Expand on your subject matter to get out of your 'safe' haven, too. Only time can/will tell what'll become of it all.
sorry for the late reply, too

I get a lot of comments on my hairs. Definitely will have to work a bit more on it.
About the "safe haven", LOL. I know I need to expand my themes but it's haaardd!! D: lol

so here is what I did yesterday. Didn't want to go to work and instead made a painting. Talk about using your time wisely!! xD
I also made a wip so i can get a bit more of advise. Btw, I didn't make any measurements for the construction. shame on me. But in my defense, spontaneity is a little more inspirational.

gesture drawings, quick sketches, a fun creative exercise (spill coffee on a sketchbook page, look for shapes, draw around/inside those shapes whatever comes to mind) and a wip of a flower being shot, which I took to symbolize the death of beauty

some sketches, portraits, a tattoo design, a portfolio homepage design...
the image with the guy squatting is a study of manhua artist Benjamin. I love his work and his style.
and the image with the couple in the grass was for a prospective client that left me hanging so I never finished it...

Hey, your works looks pretty graphic. It's not a bad thing, but I recommend you to try some soft chiaroscuro using pencils. Study an academic drawing would benefit as well.
    Have a good one =)

let's try to kick it up again

it's been more than a year since i last updated this. :/
most of these are 10-minute studies using references from deviantart.
VERY sorry for the bad quality and big pictures.
any critique is appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Sorry I you didn't understand what I said, but I saw you're from Puerto Rico and assumed you speak Spanish, right? Thanks for stopping by my sketchbook and the compliment about the digital sketch, I'll keep it up!!

when will I get to be a habitual poster?

so yeah, I've been working on traditional only since I don't have PhotoShop yet. These are the latest studies. They're for Spartan Camp #249.
Also, I was thinking of using January to study bones. I'll see how it goes.

    Btw, Happy New Year guys!
