Thread: Aztec Jaguar
June 18th, 2010 #1
After watching an episode of Deadliest Warrior, I was fascinated with the Aztec Jaguar and decided to have my own spin on them. I'm not sure if the value patterns read immediately. Please let me know if anything could be improved upon from the technical to the conceptual end. C&C welcomed as always.

A few things to consider: The figure's left leg seems a bit awkward. It does not appear to be supporting his weight. I would suggest angling the foot and knee towards the viewer. The weapon seems a bit large and cumbersome. The Aztecs were skilled warriors that could fight well in close quarters. A weapon of this size would not be condusive to jungle warfare. So far it seems like a good start!

I agree with Mancub's comments on the leg and the weapon. Right now it seems like a two-handed weapon, not something to be wielded with a shield. Other than that I really like the face-mask you're got going, looks really cool.

If you darken the shield the figure will gain depth.
I like the mask, but other accessories could have more interesting rightym and make more scattered shiluette

Speaking of adding a bit of depth, I think if you add a little perspective to the sword it might help, right now its looking pretty orthographic. I think you could do the shield in one hand and sword in the other, but to sell it would help to add some weight to them.
