Awesome man! Totally awesome. You've really inspired me to try pushing my lines further. So thank you.

The dark areas in your drawings, is that just ordinary charcoal?

Lovely gestures mister! YOu have some amazing work. Do you do any from imagination or is everything from reference?

Oh dang, those studies. NNFFF your eyes and noses. I love how your line drawings incorporate contour and structure, so you really get a sense of how the noses and eyes, and everything else you draw, are constructed. It shows a really good understanding, and it looks really cool too.

    Here's my sketchbook!

Gah you are doing so good! I finally got around to trying the brushed graphite thing. I would love if you could stop by my sketchbook and take a look.

MaFeng: Thanks for stopping by! I will most definitely look at your sketchbook!

Andrew Sonea: Thanks! And nice work

OmertA: Thanks a lot man, it's really appreciated

    NeonDuck: Thanks!!!

Blizzard5291: Thank you so much! Yeah I love construction lines, I feel that they can really make a piece sometimes!

Chiko: Thanks! I use a lot of reference, primarily because I simply need to expand my visual vocab, however some of my multi-limb figures and most of their limbs are from imagination

    Loathsome: Thanks so much!

kevinwueste: Kevin, it's so good to see you stop by, I hold your work in such high regard. Thanks for the compliment!

benlinalexander: Haha thanks man, maybe I will soon!

hücumkedi: Thanks! But it's actually powdered graphite just so you know ;P

Spaggen: haha thanks and your welcome And the drawings are brushed graphite

    chr!z: Thanks!!

Jasper_: Thanks man, face studies ftw!!

Alriiiiiight a crappy late night update, and I'm kind of timid to show these because they really aren't that good, just went out with some friends and got some (not so good) observation drawing done, focusing on contour line. The portrait is of my gf who REALLY wanted me to draw her, so I did. It's from life, and I think it came out pretty well, even though it still looks a bit flat. The eye studies yesterday came in handy because I had confidence doing eyes that I never really had before! And another multi-limb because I love those!

    Thanks for looking!

Damn bro, two updates in one day!? Toooo much. Really dig the portrait of your gf, it looks like those facial feature studies on the previous page definitely paid off.

I love those multi-limb studies how long do they usually take you and also how do you not get lost when drawing them =S.

    skMOP: Why thanks!

    Chaser226: Thank you!

BAMeyer: Thanks! They usually take like 30-45 mins per figure, I just don't get lost because I pay close attention to where the limbs are I guess

Guan: Thanks and I'll check it out!

    The_Flying_Dutchman: Thanks, really appreciate it!!

DefiledVisions: Haha thanks! BRING IT ONNNN

    Parsakoira: thanks a lot!

Jasper_: haha thanks a lot man

    Jesus Food: Thanks, I will!

Alright some pencils today, I wanna get arm anatomy DOWN, cause I find myself getting confused on muscle structure. Right now I feel like anatomy is a priority over rendering i think

Also added is a Sargent study, not too sure if it came out well, but I was trying to use the fewest brush strokes possible...not really sure if that worked out either.

Ah well see you all tomorrow and Thanks for looking!

    Happy holidays!!

mmm.. very helpful studies mate! are your study references from photos or...? in any case, great job as always~ i think you're right-- at this point anatomy is probably more important than rendering (something i should be doing more of)

Really great stuff as usual. The anatomy studies will definitely pay off. One thing I notice though is that the nipple placement is a bit weird in a number of the drawings.

I really need to test that technique with the graphite and eraser. Have done similar things to it, but not quite like that! Awesome! I'm in love with them, really.
