    our own sci fi game

    Idea is simple enough, we start with a small settlement craft and you suggest things that we could build to add to the settlement and survive on this cratered moon. once you suggest something i concept it and place it on the map. you can see a previous game on my sketchbook page 10

    1 suggestion at a time we build up a colony.

    Things to consider
    -starting resources minimal
    -we have a small building bot
    -our small craft has on board a small fabricator unit that can create additional fuel and basic tools.
    -we have a temporary inflatable oxygen tent on board the landing craft
    -we can request additional schematics or personal via fleet command communications network.
    - we have on board
    1 very skilled structural engineer
    1 botanist/bio expert
    1 field medic
    1 robotics engineer

    Ah damn. What about some research facility? And I am shocked there's no geologist on board of the expedition considering the fascinting geology of the moon.

    If there's enough water and seeds on board I suggest building a little greenhouse for the botanist. The plants will produce oxygen and food.
    I like this idea btw

    Is it possible to make something out of the minerals on the moon? Could use some building materials and whatnot. We'll need some entertainment for the crew too in case they get bored.

    Begin

    var

    atmos: Boolean; //binary function for whether the moon has an existing atmosphere or not
    gravatmos: Boolean; //binary function for whether the moon has enough gravity to sustain an atmosphere
    habit: Boolean; //binary function for whether moon is habitable

    habit = false;

    Repeat
    if (atmos = true) then
    request = "1 metric tonne of self replicating methane-chewing oxygen-spewing genetically engineered microbials";

    else if (atmos = false) and (gravatmos=true) then
    request = "the establishment of a industrial complex to release gasses into the air, creating an atmosphere and normalizing temperatures on the planet";

    until habit = true;

    Probably all recycled as it is

    I'd suggest the creation of a basic construction bay to aid in the speed and scope of construction projects, possibly another dedicated engineer as well.

    Doesn't a mission like this require a clear goal?

    What's the purpose of this settlement? Merely, creating additional, habitable land? For who? The wealthy? Career astronauts? Prisoners?

    Or is there a greater purpose? Maybe it's doing low gravity research. Maybe it's testing the tech needed for a larger settlement operation farther away. Maybe it's a beacon - like an intergalactic light house? Or it's exploring the moon surface for mining? Or it's a set up from the damn Company, to let the people be guinea pigs for alien infestation...

    At any rate, the moon has no atmosphere, so it's like 500 Farenheit in the sun. This settlement needs to go underground, and the most important part will be getting the food to grow. Considering there's no atmosphere to convert into oxygen, I suppose you'd need to bring some really big gas containers to hold a supply. And you'll need regular shipments to bring more and more gases to the base.
