    noise

Anyone here listen to noise? As in, the musical genre? Because I've got a bit of a Merzbow obsession right now. Definitely not for everyone but I figure with all these artists there has got to be someone into this stuff besides me.

I listen to a bit of this stuff. Nearly all of it is mixed with some other genre and most of it leans towards drone/doom. Black metal is very much akin to noise as well...

I'll post something more detailed with album names and the like but I'm too lazy at the moment.

I used to listen to the boredoms/voordoms all the time.

    Boredoms - Vision Creation Newsun

    Boredoms - No Core Punk

For added noise effect you can also watch these with the new vuvuzela option on!

You mean this one? I haven't seen the movie in quite awhile but this is supposedly on the soundtrack somewhere.

Oh my word! Had my volume set quite high and that just scared the crap out of me as I pressed play.

No offence but I personally find that quite painful to listen to. I think it's quite aptly named "noise". As though the creators know it's a far strech to call it music!

1930 is one of my favorite straight noise albums , along with

and sheer hellish miasma by kevin drumm which is probably one of the best noise albums/ best albums of the last decade.

also , more drone than noise but

excerpt from a 1 hour track

You and I should be BFFs real quick.

Also, anyone seen People Who Do Noise? Great documentary on the Portland noise scene and really explains some things for those new to the genre.
