    RoboCop Redesign

Hey everyone, As a uber fan of Robocop I've made it my personal project to redesign the Robocop universe. Its been a long and evolving project but I feel I have enough to start getting a good read on where I want to take it. Please take a look and let me know what you think.
Theres even more Robocop work on my blog too at http://jasianinvasion.blogspot.com/

Did you use the Iron Man art of books as refs for the Robocop?

Because the sixth image from the top looks like the image in this thread : http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=124921 from the IM official book.

I'm not saying it directly, just saw something familiar about it. If not, then cool.

The suit and the car concepts are awesome! As a big fan of robocop I think the redesign is great and true to the original.

Yeah I definitely took alot of influence from ironman. I was in love with Phil Saunders work from ironman, but I still tried to take the influence and make it mine. I used his reference in my reference boards on blog, as well as the suits from crysis and the ninja suits from metal gear. Those were my 3 big references for my Robocop design.

its pleasing to the eye and all, youve definitely mastered your fundamentals, but my criticism is about the originality,

it just looks too much like a silver IronMan, just doesnt work for me..

but i AM really attached to the original robocop though too...

Hey James, I'm glad to see that you like the design. Reffering to your previous post I would love to send it to the Robocop filmmakers, but I don't know who's directing it or where I would send it too. Does anyone know how I can send it to the Robocop Director?

Your work is really good and you've got a great sampling of work to show off. The only thing that really strikes me is your ED-209. It looks just like Metal Gear Rex from the Metal Gear Solid series. Your's is really well done and looks pretty badass, just saying that the design looks like stuff that's out there and recognizable. No slam on your talent though, solid work otherwise.

Redesigns are always a lot of fun to do and I can tell that you have enjoyed it.
For me personally I feel it's a little too sleek and simplistic, robocop is generally this bulky clunky figure, not really known to be agile. However I can see why you wanted to take him in a new direction and thats cool. I think to really give the concept that extra edge of sleekness he could do with more interesting joint mechanisms, the legs seem to be the strongest but the uper area around the chest and the shoulders could use a bit of tweaking. If you look at say a sleek new phone or camera they usually have an intuative way of slotting together and I think you could adapt this into the design more. Also I think It might be worth playing around with his head a touch more, You could really get some interesting shapes going to give him more character.

    I hope this is useful

Great stuff on your blog by the way.

Form, Form, Form, Form, Form, Form, Form, Form, Form, Form.

    These redesigns are awesome!
Agree with Mr Man, in some pictures he looks to agile. New direction is ok, but I think you should stick with the original bulky figure.

But maybe he got 2010 upgrades wich gives him more versatile abilities.

    Great job!

    Sorry for my crappy English

As Bixby Snyder would say... I'll buy THAT for a dollar!
Awesome work man. It'd be pretty cool if they hired you to design everything for the remake.
