Where to look to have a CG trailer made

    Hi everyone.

I'm a professional photographer and writer. My first novel recently got sold to a big name publisher, with a hefty advance that was promised. I found many of the artists I'm working with to illustrate certain things for the design of the website, perhaps for the novel itself, right here on CA.org

At this time, I'd like to invest an important sum in my own marketing, and I've been looking to have a CG trailer made. I know they are expansive, but HOW expansive? I don't know anyone in the business, I don't even know where to start looking.

I recently say the following trailer, and would like one with similar quality:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udrbpFhW0G4

Do you count it in tens of thousands of dollars, or hundreds? Realistically, I wouldn't want to spend more than 50,000$, just for the CG work. I have a separate budget for voice-overs and the trailer cue. Is it a realistic budget? Does anyone know a forums to discuss such things?

I've already began contacting trailer music companies for licensing of a song (Two Steps from Hell mainly). I'm a huge trailer music addict, so I know my way around those.

I'd appreciate your help and some pointers. This is the only reliable artist forums I know and that I've used. I know CA and CG are two different beasts, but I was hoping some of you might know people in the industry.

    Thanks!

Take a look at some senior thesis films coming out of the big CG schools such as Ringling. They're a full years work for a strong entry level person, so perhaps fifty thousand dollars worth of labor.

Suffice to say, you're not going to get anything on par with a major game trailer, but you could get something fairly pretty.
