Entertainment Design - A more wretched hive....

Has anyone else dropped in on the recently minted "Entertainment Design and Concept Art" forum and noticed it seems to have become a rather horrible pit of all things festerous and devilish? I was just there, and barring a few good threads with some meaty artwork the majority was "Hi im new here", plug, spam or pointless threads written in a range of skill levels from average to horrific.

What draws these vile ghouls to that innocent forum?

Why don't you fill it with superior content then?
"Astronomy offers an aesthetic indulgence not duplicated in any other field. This is not an academic or hypothetical attraction and should require no apologies, for the beauty to be found in the skies has been universally appreciated for unrecorded centuries."

Maybe it acts as a sieve.

I sort know where you are coming from to a certain degree. I don't tend to look through that section, I usually drift around sketchbooks and finally fin. From what It seems a lot of concept art stuff is posted in finally fin anyway.
Even questions about concept art are most likely going to be in the art discussion section or lounge, so it doesnt seem necessary? But it also doesnt hurt for it to be there.

Im not complaining at all, merely remarking. I was perhaps a bit harsh in my opening post, but I think it merits discussion. Why does that forum above all others attract spammers, bots and attention seekers?

I believe it probably has something to do with many people's introduction to digital art via the idea of concept art - they want a quick route to drawing "cool stuff" for a living and so they gravitate to that forum. And yes, the lounge does attract its fair share of horrid posts. See my sig for details.
