Great stuff, your graphite work looks so clean. About the three pictures in the above post I'm guessing are from imagination, you did a good job but they're all 3/4 views of crouching guys. Try some different poses!

Vertical Thanks man, and you're right haha. I didn't realize they were all in the same pose, I'll have to just draw some more poses then

Haven't done much over the past couple days, tomorrow I'll show some studies and my TAD homework for the week. For now, I REALLY wanna make a shirt with this on it

Didn't end up doin my TAD homework today, I'm definitely gonna do it tomorrow though. For now, here are some studies, a non-referenced pose animation type thing, idk, I thought it'd look cool... And a nice digital pose that took me a few hours. I tried to use more soft brushed with this one and I like the turn out of it.

Oops, damn photobucket said my image violated their rules or somethin. Anyway, fixed it.

Also, I feel bad for not posting art, but I'd like to know others opinion on whether I should start in B&W or in Color. So, I'll make a poll, but I'd appreciate it if someone could give me a reason on why which one is better or not

    EDIT:
Hmm... It seems I've forgotten how to make a poll ha

The bridgeman pages and the figures are great, keep them up! Your shading in your pencil work is too timid. don't be afraid to but in much darker values!
"A drawing is not necessarily academic because it is thorough, but only because it is dead. Neither is a drawing necessarily academic because it is done in what is called a conventional style, any more than it is good because it is done in an unconventional style. ryanoir Thanks man, I think I'll try that with my next digital then

The Pariano Thanks, yeah I've been trying to find a pencil that can go darker than 2B because that's the darkest I can get it :/

    Odayga Thanks

just some TAD stuff. A lot of these figures have super messed up proportions haha, but I was mostly working on the technique anyway since it's dark on light so it's all good

when you get your VLP stuff watch Jane Radstrom's figure drawing vid, it explains it very well
pay more attention to EVERYTHING in your figures, and carefully put down each stroke

In your figure studies, try to define more than just the silhouette of the figure, I can see some shadows but they don't seem dark enough to separate them from the lighted parts.

skMOP Thanks man, John English just told me the same thing during class, but thanks

Not much for today, just a SP. My face looks long I think because I wasn't looking straight down at the paper when I drew it so when the paper is at the angle I drew at my face looks just right, but when you look down at it it's long, but whatever, just another lesson learned

Haven't posted in a week. It's been kinda hectic sorta gettin caught up on TAD homework and rearranging my room. I got a new sexy desk that makes it sooooo much nicer to do digital artwork. My old desk was so freaking cramped

I really like the specificness of your pencil lines, but in being quite a broad solid specific line it looks very static. You've captured more "life" in the pastel studies I think. A consciousness of bringing that into your pencil would be fantastic.

HAJiME Are you saying maybe think more of my sketches as figures instead of 2d? Like not so many outlines?

Just a self portrait for today, took me about 3 hours. It looks a little off, I dont think I quite caught my likeness, but I was very close. Also, my lips are at a wierd angle ha

Spent all day on this, I'm pretty satisfied with it. Only thing that bothers me with it is my face seems a bit off, I look a little younger then I am in my opinion, but whatever. I didn't use any references which made me pretty happy

In your figure drawings are looking better and better. You usually draw the legs a little bit too small and they often lacks volume. Think about the form as well as the silhouette, and don't forget perspective. But you work is definitely getting stronger so...keep it up!

Just a little WIP for today, I'm goin to finish it tomorrow and then do some well needed studies. It seems like everyone on this forum has someone near them or someone they know personally that also has art as a big hobby. I feel left out ha. Maybe if I had more friends in to art I'd draw more

I really want critique on this please:

    critique? ok,
his right arm is too short, the way the armour on his right leg folds over the thigh is a little odd, well that general area.
the background is distracting, looks like you didn't think it through but just winged it, try doing thumbnails for the general composition, you want this epic dont you? well if you keep rendering whats in the background now it won't be
the figures look like space fillers rather than purposeful
the main figures left hand and sword are quite flat and you should get reference for that hand also
the orange light is an odd color, at least on my screen its quite dull and kinda muddy you should get reference
other than that, keep it up

I've been lazy, haven't been updating. Still drawin though, I would have a life drawing to show if I hadn't accidentally clicked "No" when it asked me to save -_-

Crappy SP, I made the nose too long again :/

TC113, definitely not my best, I only had 1 day to do it before the deadline so it's only like 3-4 hours of work, but it's better then nothin.
