love the ships and mechs, great animalistic quality to them that really give them character. would be nice to see more of these mechs in an ambitious scene of some kind.

    keep it up!

    Hello everyone,

I Have another set of sketches, digital this time, of some plants that I thought up. The environment they belong in has plants and animals that grow at 20x the speed they would here on earth, therefore they have to fight for survival in a different way. lol, if THAT makes any sense, i dont know. but check it out below.

prsnsweeney: Thanks man, I'm really happy with how that turned out myself actually. I want to do many more of these.

xinranliu: Thanks the feet are basically the only thing that im still unsure about on this robot. haha. Maybe I should do some designs of just robot feet. Check back, ill have more to look at soon!

weashell: Thanks! Those particles were rendered out of Autodesk Maya. I did some quick particle simulations with a slight turbulance field to get them to look like dust floating through the air. then I added some post effects in Nuke to get the final result to look all dreamy like that. I was thinking of making a new video to show my process on that painting. Maybe it could be useful for others looking to do the same thing. Keep an eye out. I dont plan on stopping the posts from coming anytime soon.

dog-faced: Thanks dude, I got some plans for these mechs that I have been designing. I dont wanna say too much right now, but the animated video I just made was a test to see how far I may be able to take things.

sourgasm: Thanks! I appreciate your support, stuff like this keeps me motivated to do more work and keep this updated. I'll try not to let you down.

Alas, here are some quick sketches from an hour ago... some plants n stuff.

    Sincerely,

    Jeffery Bartzissss

    Congrats on the 8th page,

Love both of the plants on the left, they have interesting shapes while remaining believable and somewhat alien (especially the bottom left, nice contrast between the larger trunk and smaller vines, sharp leaves work well with it as well). I like the others as well but I was wondering whether the top right is roots growing around a rock or some sort of eggs, are they one plant species or two together?
For the bottom right I like the idea of showing the fruit/seeds of the tree but having only one makes it read slightly less clearly. I could imagine it instead as one branch of a larger tree.

Cool to see you take the latest robot design further. Are you going to refine it with more textures to the surface? Also, the previous versions with attachments on the side were perhaps more than you wanted but maybe some smaller boxes/antenna additions to the silhouette of the upper body would work?

    Hey,

At metrotown, environment thumbs for the robot..

    Ludic: Thanks for stopping in.

Tb0ne: Thanks, yeah those are supposed to be rocks or whatever. THe idea is that the roots grow so fast that the earth around it doesnt have time to keep up and large boulders are forced out of the ground.

As for the other designs, they are just quick crappy ones. lol just trying to get used to painting on my laptop.

Axelga2112: Thanks! Oh there will be plenty more. Keep an eye out!!

    Hello fellow forum peeps!

Here is a quick sketch today of a house. Didnt spend more than 30 mins on this because I dont wanna start getting weird looks for taking my full hour of lunch(which I am entitled to btw)

Ludic: Thanks for checkin out my stuffs!

    Pininfarina Thanks!

    silentinjections: Thank you, come again!

KrispyKream: Thanks man, I spent some time on that one. Wanted to make it nice and purty. Those thumbnails are potential concepts for more video paintings similar to my last one. Gonna do one of each of those locations. Just gotta refine them a tad bit more.

rumpenstiltzkin: Thanks, they still need some more details and all that shit, maybe ill do that tomorrow cuz of the day off. Maybe not. who knows.

Anyhow, look below for some stupid house sketch thing.

Hi man! Nice paintings and thumbnails.

Really nice that last one, although the background (the rocks on the water) look a bit disconnected from the foreground (the mud and plants). I'd suggest painting the water reflections of the background + adding a very light glaze of blue to indicate the distance (like you did on the ones behind those, but not too much)

oh i really like the latest one! very nice feeling too it, and agree bits with cl0aked, some reflection in the water to connect the rocks more would help.

    Hey everyone,

Sorry for the delay in updates, I have been busy in the past week with test shots in the office and working on this video in my spare time when I get home.
Please check it out and let me know what you think.
    Critiques are more than welcome!

cl0aked: Thanks man, I purposely left the water blank because I wanted to do some effects once I animated this painting. I took into account the haze you suggested. I think It does a good job of pushing everything back and making it all feel less disconnected.

rumpenstiltzkin: Hey yo! Thanks for checking it out. Now, take it another level deep. I present to you, THE ANIMATED VERSION. lol... let me know what u think.

WATCH IT IN HD AND FULLSCREEN!

are you actually making something of all these robot concepts and latest storyboards or is it just fun/practice?
