DI888's Sketchbook - Because a catchier title would have taken too long

    Hello fellow troopers of CA
You know the drill: been lurkin' for ages, finally got the balls to post.

For a quick bit of background, I'm 19 and starting an illustration degree next year at the University of West England, in Bristol. I've got one hell of a long summer ahead of me, but rather than spend it lounging around in the sun drinking champagne, I want to make the most of it by improving as much as possible. Who knows, I might actually learn something, and at the very least I'll avoid getting skin cancer.

Anyway, the first batch of work I have is a bunch of digital stuff I did recently, which should hopefully give you an idea of where I am at, digital wise.

A photo study of Cheryl Cole, followed by a couple of eye studies, followed by a recent Self Portrait, followed by a couple of quick still lives. *gasp*
If someone could show me how you get text above each image I'd be most greatful.

That's all from me for now, but I'll be back tommorow with some actual sketchbook scans to show. Comments and crits welcome and appreciated!

I return with a few sketchbook pages to show. Alot of the stuff at first is just some fun doodles, some from reference, but mostly from head. Then its back to basics with Loomis studies, because what noobie sketchbook would be complete without it?

    Back with more soon!

Fantastic start! The computer-rendered studies I like best!

Cheers, Doom-Breath. Thanks for taking a look!

Today I bring you some recent observational drawings from various adventures out and about. Something I don't do enough of and should really adress, methinks.
    Till next time!

Some animal stuff. I felt like the hyena's face had some good character, so I tried taking it a bit further. Not sure if it'll go anywhere...

Stumbled across this amazing redhead photo and just had to paint her O_O
Was fun to do, but I struggled with the hair. I could do with a few more custom brushes I reckon...
