Alright, time to return the favour!

The dynamism of your stuff - figures, compositions - lately is amazing! I jelly. Your colour choices are excellent as well, they're really pleasingly rich. My favourite recent piece of yours is that skeletal astronaut fellow - excellent concept, great detail! Ahaughagah

Okay, time for crits! I notice a lot of your figures tend to have really massive arms, almost as thick as the legs. Something to watch out for. Also, while for the most part your facial structure is really good, occasionally the features seem to slide away from each other in weird ways.

Finally, writing out a description of a character's looks in an excellent notion that I am going to blatantly steal.

    Keep on keepin' on!

Wow, I really like your art!

Your drawings are very good, but I really like the way you use color - very stylish and original.

There is something I really like about the way you painted your last chow guy, really cool

I saw your stuff on chow and the painting technique stood out, I'm glad I got to check out your sb.

    Respect for pervs.

A lot of work since I last posted in here!
Your lines seem to be getting more and more fluid with every page.
I've been sitting here wreaking my brain trying to think of something useful to say and all I've got is just because you think you've got time you could fill with more drawing/art doesn't necessary mean you have to. The brain needs some time to rest/think without "trying" to be busy. Just a different way to think about it, being lazy doesn't count or there is this!

    Keep at it!

Woahaha where'd all you lot come from? I picked a bad time to start being social, eh?
    Replies:

Clur: Ahhh, I knew I could count on you to return favour. I've been needing a good kick up the arse lately. You were real right about the arms! I've been trying to keep an eye on that since I read your comment. I hope it shows. ahhaa Cheers, mate. and that facial thing's been at me for years. I know it's part impatience and part lacking in construction, so I need to hammer in the habits of construction and correction.
Miycko: ahaha, thank you! Ah yes, regretably as my figure studies continue my sensitivity to certain subjects get dulled. To the point I can draw people being fisted on a bed of hamburgers at the mere request. Lord knows how terribly filthy this sketchbook will be at the end.
Pgf95: Might I say your comment is flawless. I've quoted that last line for like two days. I'm still laughing now. feedback like this is the reason I love CA.
Wholewheat: Cheers, you. I've been having real fun on these Chows. A good excuse to get me to actually make FINISHED peices. I'm actually pretty surprised you like my paintings! I find painting a big weakness for me, but I do love experimenting with colour. And respect right back at'chya. The world needs more perverts. ;D
Hikix:: Ahh, that I can do. I'm horrifically productive at the best of times.
Bruce!: Haven't seen you for a long while! Cheers for the kind words. Outright surprised about hearing that. I always feel like I'm not working nearly enough as I could. I take 'breaks' doing little things like writing or walking if that's anything. I promise I don't draw ALL the time. (just most of it).
And I see you have a good taste in music ;P that song's a classic. We had a screenshot of that glued to our post in college surrounded by untasteful fanart. Good times, good times.
Oxane: More surprises! I'm grinning like a fool over getting complimented on my art AND my face. Mind you, I promise my blunt and often gross personality negates any cuteness IRL. aha. Thank you though! Ahaha, I'm really going to try not to let comments like this make my ego inflate. xD
Skulls:Pssssshshshhht! I'll have none of that. Your art's really something too. I just love the colours you use and these insane concepts you just chuck out at will. You just need to update more often. ;P So here's hoping I see more of you!
Gamersgene: Ahh, but what's the point of doing so many art studies if I can't utilise what I've learnt to draw awful things? It is the reward to myself for a hard day's work. The icing to my cake. I would be nothing without it! Ahaha, but in all seriousness, thank you!
Aks9: Thank you! I'm glad you like them. I've been trying to make myself get decent with digitals. Hopefully I'll show some marked improvement in a few months of CHOWs.

I felt like drawing girls today. I forget women can actually be fun to draw.
WOah almost forgot the shayle sketches I did on the boat home. I can't neglect my pretty princess dreamer.

Bleh. Here I was going to kick up the pace again when I ended up ill for two days. Not much to show for my break other than bad homestuck fanart.
I'll try not to get too frustrated with myself and ease back into some studies.

    Replies:
Aragah: Near enough daily! ahaha. Sometimes more, or in this case, less. Cheers for the stars though! I'm bang on four now, which is pretty nice.
Gamersgene: Couldn't be further from South America if I tried! I'm stuck on a rock in the middle of Ireland and England. Bluh. If I wasn't feeling so rough lately I'd have thrice as much stuff drawn since you commented. Tough luck on my part. I'll have to make up for it!

Kendall: I just had a good look through that person's comics, cheers for chucking the link my way. He's got an interesting way with colour. It moves the eye around the page more than the actual panels do in your example. How odd! But definitely a tactic I should try my hand at messing around with.

    I'm babbling. Here's some sketches.
OR NOT THEN. Because attatchments is being shit again.
    Well.
Just go here for now. Some of what I was going to upload's on tumblr already. I'll attatch them later when CA behaves.

Edit: There we go! I should delete my tumblr link, but tbh if you guys want to be smothered by rushed homestuck shit then by my guest and follow me.

    Hu-ha! You're so kind! ;A;
I get seriously excited when I hear people like my characters. IT MAKES ME ALL WARM AND TINGLY INSIDE. It's about time I started spamming that elven shithead more often here too.

    ....
Are these attatchments not showing or is my laptop being a shit? If it's the first option here I'm going to casually FLIP THE FUCK OUT.

    __________________________________________________ _________________
I'll write down some crits to myself whilst I try and sort this out.
    - Too many similar poses, boring ones too. How many people can we have stood at a 3/4 slant looking moody? There are so many other more interesting poses out there, you little shit. Stop being lazy and come out with other alternatives. A LITTLE IMAGINATION would not harm you.

    - Same as the usual. RUSHING. So much RUSHING. Things are scratchy and unfinished left, right, and center. Mistakes that could EASILY be avoided are just left in there for favour of speed. It's where/how you place marks that matter, not the time you take to finish a picture.

    - Do more expression exercises, they're fun, you need them. No problem.

    - More body studies. Particularly arms, legs, hips, torso. Everything, actually. We're kind of rusty with this anatomy shit.

    - WHEN drawing comics remember WORDS are just as IMPORTANT as the PICTURES. Keep an eye on how the WORDS and SPEECH BUBBLES lead the eye. Image and word shouldn't be FIGHTING for ATTENTION. Also stop being lazy and learn to FIT words PROPPERLY into the BUBBLES its not that HARD.

hey Naids long time no see! I'm too lazy to look through all like...20 or something pages that sprouted since I was last here, so how's things going? where are you now etc.
your lines just get better and better, was the last one in #1996 from a model?

Kendall: ahaha, thank you! I churned that one out in like 5 mins too. I should really do figure sketches like that in big groups. It'd probably look nicer that way.

Krysjez: Woahh, glad you didn't! I cringe so bad sometimes thinking some people feel they ought to slave through dozens of pages before they can comment. And those last two figures were from the top of my head! I remembered I internalise my studies better if I go off afterwards and try to build figures from the top of my head in strange poses.

Welp. Here's a self portrait. For once, I dare say, I got some likeness to myself.

I have a weird mouth, and the area around it too always gets me off guard so I always end up messing the lower half of my face.
Other than the fact the mouth's crawling to the side of my face a bit, its not so bad this time? I don't know. I'll come back later and give myself a scritinising self crit.

But first I need to get dressed and buy some milk. Not doing anything that requires a brain without a cuppa.

I loved the gestures in those last sets of images you really nailed them, Its one of the things that I am really concentrating on at the moment and sometimes I get it way wrong which makes me laugh out loud. Falllllin' behind with my updates again.
I'm still drawing more than twice a day, the problem is I've been baddly, baddly struggling against the urge to rush. I think I'm starting to get over it again, thankfully. But I'm not being funny with you the stuff I was churning out had such a dramatic decline in quality I knew it wasn't worth posting till I focused on fixing my problem.

    Replies:
    Mane: Ah, thank you!
Josh: Haha, always does me good hearing people think I'm progressing. Hopefully I can keep up the pace!
Lightship: I had problems with gestures for the longest time too! I'm still not sure I've got the hang of the quicker ones, so many I look at when I'm done and just think "what the fuck is that?" but atleast I still find it a good warm up. Also, cheers for the kind words! It never occurs to me that people find any use from these sketches I dump here, I just figure its easier for me to see my general progress when its all together. So that's really just a bonus! Good luck with your gestures, I'm sure you'll get the hang of them.

I had more, I just can't remember what's on tumblr and whats already here anymore.

Lovely style, really cute characters. Well suited to comic books.

Will be keeping an eye out on this sketchbook.
