I want to marry that hand study and have its beautiful graphite babies.

Regarding your self portrait, I think it's quite good, but I thin you made the eyes too big and the mouth doesn't quite fit itself - it doesn't seem to wrap around the planes of its area as it should.

I like those hand studies in post 1640! But there's some weird perspective issues with the first pic in that post.

Replies, replies, replies. I'll do this quickly so my apologies for any incoherence or spelling on my part.

Alien-space-cloud: Aha! Did you? I always heard of people mistaking Link for Zelda but I never knew anyone who had. I suppose he did wear a dress and he was pretty short. That nose though, and eyebrows. xD But yes, I definitely know how you feel. I so baddly want to revisit the ocarina of time and Majora's mask. The games were fantastic, glitches, massive noses and all.

Zeich: Oh, mate. I know how you feel. Even I'm finding it hard to draw as much as I usually do, but college is hectic and it's a good challenge. Hope you get more time for drawing soon!

Tron: Och, you flatter me! But thank you anyways and will do.

Mary-cherry-me: Not going to lie, that made me laugh the first time I read it. Then I laughed again when I read it again. xD and on the portrait, you're dead on. I keep consistently getting eyes and mouths wrong at that angle. Made the nose bridge too short too. A whole rainbow of mistakes in there. I'll just have to keep practicing. Cheers!

Walnut: Hey, mate. Surprised you like the hand studies, I keep getting the forshortening wrong. And glad you pointed out the perspective thing, starting to notice it myself. Do I just have to lower the plane or something? Either way I reaaallly have to make time for reading up on perspective.

    Cheers again, everyone.

Even though I no longer post here (too busy doing commissions and paying bills ...) I just wanted to stop by and say: It's great to see you're still at it like ever, and continuing to push yourself! Your watercolors are coming out...well, outstanding! You have a very delicate eye for diffusion and adding straight pigments . Your mix of anatomy studies and composition studies (whether they be from imagination or observation) are turning out great. It makes me smile to see you put so much effort and emotion into these (even if you don't think you do [i really don't know]...it sneaks out). Well, I must be off now, I have an owl to finish painting . Just wanted to stop by and check up on this whatnot. I may just pop in again! Take care Naidy, and keep pushing! You're doing great!

Love the studies, especially the movement one (with the red lines, the guy with its back turned at us XD) and the symmetry-hands.

I also really like that painting

GAH I NEED TO DO STUDIES AS WELL. Your skill at them will eventually guilt-trip me into doing some.

    Zeich: Cheers, mate
Mary: Thanks, mate. The movement one was pretty fun to do. I ought to do them more often.
Vigilandus: Ugh. I'm havin' a right problem with heads lately. I'll definitely keep on studying them. Cheers for the kind words. And be sure I'll be putting on more of those sorts, anytime my mind's blank it tends to come out with creepy shit like that.

I looked at first page of your sketchbook, and then at the last and I'm impressed by the progress you've made! I love the way you draw legs and hands. And how you painted yourself as a zombie - if I saw you like that on the street I'd be scared!

The acceleration a of a body is parallel and directly proportional to the net force F and inversely proportional to the mass.

Procastination? What are YOU talking about? I was a bit inactive and neglected some SBs from the zillion ones I'm subscribed to and you drew so much in this period, and I really can't complain about the quality and variety either.
I love the skull (I like every skull that isn't messed up but yours is on another level), the first drawing in #1640 and it's troubling but I don't mind the flaws in the self portrait in #1639. It works for me somehow...
By the way, in the past your faces looked generic "Naidy-style faces" to me, they were nice but not that interesting after I saw the first ones. But lately I like your heads a lot and they are different, often with a really interesting expression...

If you are having problems with heads and say you need to study perspective, maybe the two should actually go together. It all helps to express what you want to express.

I didn't think it was possible to be called an artist when you have nothing to say. It's like being a writer who publishes individual words as books and expects to be praised for it.

Well, can't really put off uploading any longer. Though, really, I don't have anything decent. Keep forgetting to take photos of the college stuff too.

Trufle: Ahh, thank you! Never quite improving fast enough for my liking though. I'll just have to get my arse into gear.
shiNIN: NooOoOoO I never do as much as I should. And if only you were! The more I get to paint the better. Lol, I think I've managed to bully atleast two into letting me paint their faces on the day. Ahaha
Lakai: Eyyy, cheers ;D And you're very welcome. Keep up the good work!
Black spot: Heads in perspective? Like the Loomis angles? I definitely, definitely, DEFINITELY need to revisite them. And finish my perspective notes. And my logbook. Oh god. I need to get a move on.
Slothboy: Cheers, mate! And I'll try.
Kendell: Nothing to be sorry about. Infact, you've actually sparked a bit of an idea. I think it would be fun doing some pretend covers...Hmm.
City Wolf: This sketchbook is a monster. God knows how big it will be given another year and good to hear I didn't confuse you. Keep up the good work!

    Yo Nadester!

Love coming back on here after ages and seeing all the awesome posts my fave SBs have added!

Loving pineapple Dan! He reminds me of the mysterious stranger from the adventures of Mark Twain! ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ak3z2...e_gdata_player ), was rarely out my tape player as a kid!

Your water colour pieces are sublime too, they have a dreamy feel to them, kinda feels like looking into your dreams in some of them.

And again, impressed by your amount of output of sketches nd the likes!

Silent Messiah: Eyy, feller! Good to see you back! Ah, I remember seeing a clip of that before, now you mention it I definitely see the similarity. Cheers!

Krysjez: Oh, allright then. But coursework comes first. And any gift art I said I'd do.

    Glotzan: Cheers, mate!

Most non-reff here, except for the first post, we had a model to scratch onto those plates. Need to post the prints I did, but I keep forgetting. Having fun messing around with heads, but I know I need to do some loomis studies because I'm dogged by the same problems with up/down/front that I've had for years now. That's it, really.

College shit and non reff doodles/paint doodles. The hand paint sketches and the still life are observational. Everything else pretty much top o' the head.

Peonso: Och, the stuff here's a far cry from that- Unless you're talking about the lad in the dress, which then I'd have to agree with you. Cheers!
Tron: Ahaha, thank you! Was a pretty good refference I was looking at.
