Hey, nice updates. My crit though is that it seems to me that you just quickly doodle things, which is fine, but you should throw in some long studies, and really think about each line you put down, it will not only help you understand what you do and why you did it, but it will also help you retain the information you just learned. keep it up girl, i know you will

I agree with what Lang Oulk said above, but I still think you're improving. I just looked at page 1 and skipped up to page 18 and saw a huge improvement. Keep it up

    Good morning, good morning!
I'm afraid most of what I've drawn so far today consist of hastily drawn comics.
Don't attempt to read what I've written, when pen comes to paper I suddenly lose the ability to even spell my name right. xD

Surion: Yes, I definently need to do more studies, thanks for the comment mate!

Qlotzan: Can't thank you enough for the reff you gave me there, I'll be sure to practice expressions more in future!

Lang, Forrest: You've both definently hit the nail on the head. My greatest drawing weakness by far is rushing. It's hard to draw something in over 20 minutes, let alone an hour. I am trying to work on it, but it's a hard thing to overcome.
I'll manage it one day though!

Right, as for the updates, as you probably all know- comics are not my strong point either. I really need to read up about how to make them better. So any tips on general composition in comics are most definently welcome.

First page: About some dream I had where I went to the office and was told I had to cut a 2 inch deep wound in my neck to insert a chip into. (good times)
    Second: Messing around with characters.

I'll update this page through the day to stop myself spamming every hour, I'm working on painting that griffin picture, so hopefully I'll have something decent (and unrushed) out at some point.

hahaha thats comic looks nice i like it

try to see more comic and focus about the frame of each situation and you have to
know that the lines really important like _ ,( , / all these have a powerful in drawing
especially in comic '' i meant frames '' LOL

    good luck

    keep you art up

Qlotzan: Thanks mate, you've been really helpful lately. I suppose composing a comic is allot like writing, you have to cut down on the nonsense and think about what's essential to the plot/reader. I'll try and do more practice on it.

Raffix: I actually had to check then, that's really strange. The only explanation that comes to mind is someone must have slipped when they went to click something. I'm definently not 4 star standard. :fear:

Oh! And I have life drawing on Tuesdays...Wait, actually, not next Tuesday but the Tuesday after that.

Edit: Way on the way into painting my griffin thing now, and about the striped trousers, don't ask.
All I can say is I've been reading up too much on Robespeirre...

Thanks for stopping by my sketch book!
I had to drop by yours when I saw your avatar. I really dig it! Love the day of the dead type stuff. Loving the griphon too. Is that watercolors? I fail so hard at watercolors! So I'm envious if that's what that is!

Schen: Och, thank you so much for the kind words!
Yes, it is in watercolours, they're by far my favourate medium. (I find them so easy and quick to use xD)

Very nice watercolors, and yes, taking time does take time to overcome, i know the feeling, the first 7 pages of my sketchbook were like that! its just until recently that iv slowed down and really examined my work, and it's helped a great deal! remember that you dont have to sit down and just complete one study at a time, try doing one long study and do half, then come back to it with fresh eyes to see your mistakes, it really helps you retain the knowledge! great updates as usual. will be back for more!

    Insanelight: Thanks mate!

Lang: Thanks for the words of inspiration, mate. I keep treating art like a race, when I need to slow down and actually pay attention to what I'm doing. Thankfully I've managed to keep a steady pace with the last painting, and I've been enjoying doing all the little details.

Jellyswirl: Thanks mate! I really love painting feathers, and hair, and metal (even though I'm not too good at them). It's great fun.

    OKAY now onto buisness:
This next picture does look embarrasingly bad, it's meant to be in a similar style to picasso's harlequin family. To save you the horrors of googling harlequin *spoilers* Every picture you will see will be of feotuses with harlequin syndrome *end spoilers* I decided to link you the picture above it.

Looks like your latest stuff has improved! I like that Roman/elf at the top. You're right, the observational drawings certainly improve your work. You just have to memorise what the life studies are teaching you.

the cat-owl picture is great- looks nice and the coloring is very clean and neat. only thing might be the chin... doesnt exactly seem to line up with rest of the face but you dont really notice it on the finished piece.

keep being the usual duracell bunny- its fun to come here

That's a cute griffin. And striped trousers, Naidy? No wonder she decided to run away with the griffin...probably couldn't stand her friends teasing her about her fashion sense all the time

Maybe you also want to try laying down larger areas of flats before working into the small details. The paint looks a bit fussy now because of all the small strokes you're using to build up the shadows on the armor (unless you're saving the whites there)

Back everyone, and on the finger thing, it isn't actually sore at all. Just looks hilarious. xD

    Right, now onto replies!

Slothboy: Most definently, thanks for the comment mate!

Sean: Ahh, I've never owned a moleskin, but I've heard they're great. And on Watercolours, I think they're great to paint with, Always a good to experiment with mediums.

Plissken: Ahh, thank you for the constant encouragement mate! And managed to slip with a razor and it took a chunk out of my nail. It doesn't hurt though, I can assure you. xD

Equilerex: Ahh, I thought there was something up with the face, I'm tinking I mesed up the mouth too, xD

Krysjez: BUT STRIPED PANTS ARE SO COOL!!!!1111@ lol, but anyways. I never had a plan when it came to painting this, so I've been working the detail in small areas so that I don]t do something stupid and make things too dark.

    Sulphur: Thank you!

Klaus: Sounds like the sort of thing my Mum would shut-down upon seeing. xD

    Insanelight: BLOOD. EVERYWHERE. lol

Qlotzan: Lol, it doesn't actually hurt. I've spent the majority of my day creeping out one of my more 'delicate' friends with it.

SO. I don't have life drawing tonight, though I have an essay or two to do so it all works out for the best.
I'll edit this and post in any pictures I do later, since I might do some artcourseowkr if I have the time.

I noticed on a post you mentioned that people keep getting younger and younger here. lol. I had to laugh at that because I feel the same way. It's kind of scary. I feel like it's happened within the past couple of months. Seriously. Where did these people suddenly come from? lol.

I feel like your line quality has gotten better and your drawing in general. It would be interesting to see some still lives from you or something more rendered just to see what you are capable of even if it isn't necessarily your style. It might be fun to try anyway.
