    Teen Challenge 87 :: Underwater

    Round 87 :: Underwater

    Topic
    Take it whatever way you like. Character, environment, creature, whatever rocks your boat.
    Thank you Agrovent for the Suggestion <
    Enjoy everybody
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Trying hard to think of stuff that everyone will enjoy and I am thinking teen challenge should be a bit different from all the other challenges. Everything else is pretty specific so I want to keep TC as something a bit more relaxing and personal. Keeping it open as possible If you guys have any ideas throw them in the suggestions thread ----> Topic Ideas

    Deadline
    Sunday, May the 23th, 2010

    IMPORTANT
    1. Add a border around your image with your name and the topic, like they do with the other of the week challenges.
    2. Please use the attachment manager, it helps preserve the images to forever and beyond.
    3. Mark your final as final.

    Good Luck everyone and Hope you have fun! If you have any ideas for where the teen challenge should go then please either PM me or post it in the suggestions thread.

    Nice and general, I like this one. I have decided to go for a Leviathan. I like the idea of it. I have been reading up on my underwater mythology for this one . I have a brilliant idea for it. Either this or I will do one of the 4 dragon kings, said to live in the 4 sea's in crystal palaces. Or possibly the grindylows. Said to live in the lakes in Scotland. All brilliant underwater legends

    hunchback- hah, yea.. i really don't think your skills need defending dude =P how in the hell do you make those textures man??? i've been failing at making decent textured brushes in photoshop >.< i want to be able to pass off an "almost traditional" feeling in the rendering...
    i'm really into the speed paint you posted, not sure if this is the direction you're taking with the final, but i like the vasty mysterious feeling the dark shapes in the background give off- makes the two kids in the center (if they are children) seem more vulnerable.. maybe it can be played off more towards a wonderland type experience too, where the vast space isnt as much threatening as exciting.. their own personal world?

    i couldn't help it... i just had to go and make a psychedelic cephalopod =)

    it has been a series if lucky guesses that made this piece less of an eye sore, but now im stuck with the refining stage.. i have to make the mistakes look like they where intentional and its not working the way i want it to >.<
    definitely need to make it less blurry, tone down the glow until a more detailed skin texture is put in...
    (and yes, the cupcakes is just a placeholder till i make the tiny person.. or whatever else might give the squid/octopus a sense of hugeness)
