    Nate Hallinanís Art (Updated 9/14/2011)

Smurfelicious Update Below! (September 14, 2011)

Hey everybody! Shamefully, Iíve been a long time lurker but Iíve been so inspired by the many talented artists here. Honestly, Iíve been pretty intimidated to really post much of my work here. I know, I know, thatís crap but I suppose itís better late than never.

Polyphemus Gas Giant - Within the thick clouds of the planet Polyphemus, the planet that the moon Pandora from "Avatar" orbits around, an elusive colossus exists. It is rare to witness the Polyphemus Gas Giant, but when it is seen in the open it is a site to behold. It emits gases from its porous epidermis as a natural camouflage, a literal smokescreen to blend into its habitat. It is a mystery to how large these graceful creatures are. Eyewitnesses have accounted seeing their tails extending kilometers without being able to see the end. It is still unsure to whether these conjectures are true or not.

What is known is that the creatures have a natural bioluminescence much like the animals found on Pandora. The Polyfemus Gas Giant uses its bioluminescent tongues to attract swarms of its microbial food. It is speculated that this species may have a distant relation to the animals found on Pandora due to its bioluminescence and its seemingly hexapod like appendages.

This was done for one of ís creature planet challenges.

Save for one small issue that I have I think these are all pretty awesome.

The one small issue I have is there isn't more evidence of them playing more in the snow in the first one. But I know that could be just me. Ya know. Foot prints and signs of romping around.

You define your distant planes as more or less solid shapes. That's smart and takes a lot more restraint than I realized until recently .

Your pieces have an innate sort of humor. Makes em very appealing, especially the Temporal and Artemis cannons.

Last piece is terrificly lightened. Please do not feel intimidated. I should.

    Thanks you guys!

Quigleyer - Your right, I was way too subtle about the foot prints in there. Donít know if Iíll have time to go back and fix that but at least itís been brought to my attention.

You have some really quality pieces in here, but the Polyphemus Gas Giant, laketown, the castle and the soul siren are just amazing. Can't wait to see what else you have in store.

I knew Laketown was Laketown before reading the title, you captured that area wonderfully. Epic, bravo!
