    painting and drawings

Hi all, thought I'd share some of my traditional work on here. Working in 3d has really renewed my interest in painting and drawing. Comments are very welcome, thanks

Beautiful stuff - powdered charcoal or graphite for the broad passages? Amazing sense of light - very inspiring. Thanks for sharing!

thanks - I dont usually use graphite, accept in quick sketches. Mainly compressed and willow charcoal for longer drawings..

Wow - thanks for sharing the process piece - stunning. I'm amazed it is on canvas? If you don't mind me askinig...I assume you are erasing out the light hair strands or are you going in with something opaque? Just really impressive work and I haven't seen too much on the approach. Thanks again...

Ahhh...sneaky! So the canvas stuff - these killer finished pieces - acrylic? Or charcoal also used with turp or somehting for washes? Sorry for all the questionnes...just really impressed because I like working this way too but with dry media.

mostly oil paint some acrylic also underneath for washes. the hair is done with a 5/0 brush

its about a1 in scale so bringing it down in size makes it look more real:

Love these. I think the first two are wonderful to look at. The large canvas piece and the sketch of the girl with knees tucked in are beautiful, really beautiful. Well done. Would love to hear more about technique. Do you work wet on wet?
