Hey guys, I've been wondering a lot lately about geometry's play in composition, specifically those of the renaissance. I've heard that they used a great deal of geometry in the placement of objects, and i can see the simple stuff, but i miss a lot of the underlying structure. Also, I've seen a lot of posts talk about how they wish there was a larger discussion on composition on conceptart, so perhaps this could be it? Thanks guys for your input and posts.
You might try the CA Search function to search "sacred geometry." I think there was a pretty extended discussion within the last 6 months to a year!
There's a good bit on Golden ratios etc at the end of Speeds drawing book.
It's free and legal so have a look.
Everyones favourite landscape guy Stape, seems to be starting a section on it in his blog.
There's a huge thread on this kinda thing started by (I think) Chris Bennett or Kev F., the search function hates me so I'll leave you to dig for it.
