    YEEEAH!

Just 2 minutes ago I ordered new stuff which is as hot as hell, two art books!

Legacy: Selected Drawings & Paintings by FRANK FRAZETTA
Bold Visions: The Digital Painting Bible by Gary Tongue

I have to say that I really fell in love with Frazetta's stuff in the last few months I am here. Well we will see what It brings to me. I thought it would be a good idea to just draw with the computer turned off or at least without an internet connection so I am focused more on working highly concentrated. My first sketchbook is filled with stuff over the last year, there are only 2 or 3 blank pages left. My next sketchbook will meet some ink soon, it's already here, waiting to be painted :-)

argh. I drew the death dealer by Frank Frazetta for about one hour. My computer was stable the last months so I didn't thought it freezes. But it did. I didn't save the file and now I'm pretty pissed about that. Sorry guys, no update today. But I drew, like I do every day. Have a nice evening.

    Hey Silv!
I'll try to use less custom brushes but there's only one brush I use which SO MUCH guys are using^^ It's just that flat little bit charcoal / pencil like brush from photoshop.

I really need to get a better and CLEANER technique to draw my stuff very much more comprortable, easier, faster and better. Update to the Death dealer.

hey tasser, solid sketchbook. Have you tried working through some loomies books? especialy his "creative illustration" one. You should read it and work through it, if you havent yet.

    @Fetsch:

    DankeschŲn! Thanks
Yes I have some Loomis books, I started to work through but I never finished one of those. What do you think are my greatest weaknesses, what do you all think do I really need to learn to go straight forward the next few months? I wanna be as good as possible.

Here's the piece from above refined a bit more.

    Keep it on my friends.
    Bye, til' next week!

    Hey Guys!
Don't think I am not doing something, 'cause I draw daily.
Here are some updates. The artwork for my band etc I will post when it is finished. Maybe that takes a few more weeks. Not sure how long it does take.

    hey dude long time ah?
the Frazetta piece is nice, I suggest you try taking one of his works and chose a small section of it and then study it separately this way you will notice things you wouldn't unless you look real close and pay attention on all the little details such as values edges colors and so on, its a really good practice that can help you progress. learning from other masters is a really good way to improve.
Take your time and don't rush anything.

    Cheers

This is the update of the last few days. I wasn't very lazy and I'm proud of me because of constant work for my band and that. The logo is amlost finished. When we have the final logo I'll post it, too

I ordered four new books about art.
More coming soon! My Pentel Pocket Brush Pen must be here in the next days. Cam't wait to draw with it outside in the park, yay!

Work in progress. Got a lot of new stuff coming soon.

@Danny_K: Thanks man, really appreciate your comment. I do my best and slowly I feel like getting better.

@AlexTooth: I want to do more studies. But if I only keep it constant it works, too! So Thank you, I'll be watching your SB, too!

@wooden mango: Hopefully it did. Thank you very much.

@ranunkel: I tried to do my best and landscapes are one of those things to me, which make so much fun to draw or paint. I love that stuff But only because I am so bad at figure drawing - that sucks very much Anyway thanks for your comment.

    ---

Yesterday I tried to write down what I need to learn, where I need to spend more time into.

    - Vector graphics (Illustrator)
    - Typography (I mean I'm designing band logos and such, so it would be helpful)
    - Composition
    - Perspective
    - Black and white studys, monochromatic with a bit of colour additionally.
    - Art History and good painters of today (not only the "popular" guys)
    - Different art styles such as impressionism, jugendstil (art nouveau?) etc.

So let's get started beeing a better artist!
    - Flo

Here's the promised update from the last few days. Hope you like it.
I'll get my laser b/w printer in the next days. I need it to my studies, ebooks to keep them safe forever and for my great new studies. Yeah!

Friday was my last day as a person doing civil service (there's absolutely no translation in the net, in german it's called "Zivildienstleistender"). So now for the next few weeks I'm in holidays, hell yeah!

Drawing, painting, observing, imagine, eat, sleep, girlfriend, guitar, repeat

    My daily update.
Each of the portraits took about 1,5 to 2 hours.
I thought you maybe would like to see my desk.

I feel like slowly getting better with portraits.

PS: Of course the perspective/cubic stuff is FREEHAND, no ruler at all.
