Time to wake up and be more active. Here is today's take from imagination, inspired by latest lesson with Jason Manley and Zhang Lu:
A second take to make a portrait of this character, the first sketch attached on the left. I painted it more in 2009, but don't like the result thus take#2. I may treat it as a WIP or a concept, haven't decided yet. Jan 2009 face concept:
And some of 2010 sketches. I've got old sb at CGTalk and Epilogue forums, here let it be a fresh start.
Ice gate ideas.
Pencil altered in PC.
A forgotten WIP.
Referenced from Rubens, yet not a copy.

Looks like you're working hard. I really like that Reubens study.
Try to loosen up some — those scribbly pencil lines aren't pretty and (if you're like me) they'll confuse you when you're trying to bring a piece to a finish. Try drawing with pen for a few weeks to force yourself to build confidence.
Finalizing this one. I know I overdone details, can't drop them now. Or maybe can, but still want to see what if I do all (though I have problem with the snake ). In any case I still have the old variant. Image started a year ago, both variants:
Hel of Nordic mythology, digital ink in Painter.
Haven't updated in 2 years, haven't done much either. Each time I have a break I feel like learning all again from scratch.
The woman in red, haven't finshed her, yet:
Took some ice on canvas instead - Eldar crossing the Grinding Ice in The Silmarillion:
Worked more on the first idea and the face alone:
:: full view ::
and overdosed the freezing snow:
The final stage of the first concept; the wider variant will be continued.

Nordic Loki (Loke), another WIP; at first designed as cover ideas.
More ideas to paint one day:
- inspired by Hubble shot.
A generic drow priestess for my Icewind Dale 2 character. I've finished the game with original portrait and this one got lost & forgotten.
Polish Tolkien forums anniversary image:
Horses are evil

Cool sketchbook i can see signs of improvement which is really good!, i suggest working on your brush economy, focus on the big picture then worry about details but youre making great progress one can only expect more!
Help me improve!
