    The Wacom Cintiq 15x (PL-550)

I've been trying to find review information about this tablet for a while now. Unfortunately It seems it's a rather old model and reviews are thin on the ground.
I was wondering if anyone here had it, knew about it, or could recommend a similar one around the $400 mark? (Hell, less would be nice too!)

    Thanks for your time guys.

Looking at those specs I would save my money to something else.

Hi there, I have one of these and I use it as a freelancer to earn a living. Obviously, it's not the new 21 ux but I get on ok with it. Just check colours with your monitor every now and again and I'm sure you'll get on fine. Certainly for the money it's a great buy in comparison to the £1800 21ux. I produce line and full colour illustrations and paintings for all sorts, including Disney, to give you a measure of usage. The contrast sometimes isn't the best but again I get on fine with it, just checking against the monitor when I'm not absolutely sure. Pressure sensitivity is pretty good, linework is crisp and well controlled, even though there are only 512 levels. Having tried the 21ux I have found that the extra levels dont actually add that much, so no real worries on that score.

I'd say that with your budget, if you are after this type of thing, then it would be a good buy. Try and test it before you buy, just to make sure it is fully functional. They are pretty old now.

If you want to know anything specific, just post it up and I'll try to keep an eye out.

I hope this helps. All the best.
