Future Serial Killers: Kids' Drawings Painted Realistically

Future Serial Killers: Kids' Drawings Painted Realistically

    http://www.geekologie.com/2010/04/fu...s_kids_dra.php

Dave admittedly does a great job, but I'm still convinced most of these kids are, or will soon be, serial killers. Don't get me wrong, I've been known to crush a box of Count Chocula in my day, but -- you see where this is going? I hate myself already.
The author makes the assumption that if your kid draws monsters and humans you're a serial killer. I'm still leaning on the bipolar theory:

Oh come on, that is an entirely incorrect assumption. It's like saying drawing penises means I'm a nymphomaniac.

To be honest, the artist did a great job on making the children's drawings look horrifying. The drawings from the children themselves are pretty standard.

I'm off to lock all the knives in the house away and put the sledge hammer under my pillow. Can't be too careful. Even the teachers have said my kids' pictures were pretty violent after I've just told them there's not enough blood splattered about.

Last mother's day I made a picture for my mom. It was a nice little Cardinal on a snowy branch done in Illustrator. She liked it. After looking at it a bit she said "See, I like it when you make nice things." to which I replied "When have I ever made you something that wasnt nice?" She said "When you were in grade school you made me a Christmas card. It was a picture of a medusa santa claus." I dont remember drawing that as a kid, but it sounds brilliant. She claims she still has it in storage. I've been begging her to dig it out.

When I was in pre-school I drew a picture in multi-colour crayon of my mom and dad, and my older brother standing next to our house. It had all the usual smiling faces, sausage bodies and stick arms; but the most striking aspect of the scribble was the bright pink breasts I drew on my mom. My parents thought it was hilarious (although I never found out what the teacher thought) and used to show it everyone, until I destroyed it some years later when I began to feel embarassed by it - thanks to all that puberty lark.

I'd completely forgotten about it until I read this thread, and now wish I had not destroyed the drawing. Maybe I should paint an update for my moms birthday!

As a kid I used to draw comics with my sibling about two groups of people constantly attempting to kill each other. Upon reflection it seems more like we inadvertently stumbled upon violent aspects of reality as opposed to it being pure childish imagination.

When I was a kid, I used to draw those dragon-zebra-girraffe hybrids and tried to draw 3D houses. That probably means that my parents during the night turn into some architecture serial killers. o-o
Why yes, I do have a sketchbook, a Tumblr account and a page on DeviantArt.
I also happen to be a high school student who dreams of working as an illustrator or a concept artist, so any kind of critique is welcome!

When I was a kid, I was asked to draw a picture representing my family, I ended up doing an image of my dad doing the ironing, my mum filling shopping trolleys full of wine and me killing rats in the attic.

I really wonder about that one every time I see it.
